[RM2K] I'm old. Help me catch up on changes since 2006.

2. Nowadays when I try to install my latest Sword and the Fish 2020 (I'm testing it before giving it to my students or nephews) the install no longer works. RTP installs. My font fixed seems to work. RM2000.exe gets an error about authenticity and the SHELL.dll file after freezing on the last file. It also appears to only install in the C drive else greta confusion.

Question: anyone know a work around for this?

I'm not 100% sure, but if I'm remembering right - in the same folder as your installer, there should be an .lzh file. It's an archive, and you can use 7-Zip or whatever to extract it. Those are all the files you'd need to run your game, so you can just skip installation altogether.

Wish we got to explore more of this city in the game, but what was there was really good.

RPG Maker games I must play before dying

I'd strongly recommend A Blurred Line. It's a Cyberpunk/Fantasy thriller made in RPGmaker 2000, and features a lot of unique skill progression systems, some really good mini-games, and an extremely well crafted storyline. It's not finished and honestly probably never will be, but what's there is definitely worth checking out.

There's also The Way, a fantasy epic split into six episodes. It's about a man looking for his lost love, but there's also ninjas, magic swords, serial killers and one of the more interesting fantasy settings I've come across. Unlike A Blurred Line, the story takes a lot longer to get started, but once it does, it does.

Theme Roulette 3

Hmm, the Moon, a screenshot of Xenogears, and some retro-sound effects.

I think I can work with this.

For ingame use: name TV shows (movies, series) that would look recognizable in 30x15 pixel snippets.

Also now that I think about it, maybe Pacific Rim, or Hellboy, too.

Star Trek, probably? I don't think there's a more iconic spaceship than the USS Enterprise.
