Hi, my name is Jano Visser, I am 16 years old and I live in The Netherlands,
I play guitar and videogames, and I spend most of my time making music or working on maps, might make a game in the future. Who knows.
(How much I love writers block)

A Proper Introduction
Alright, so some people may have spotted me snooping around and posting small screenshots of projects I'm working on (or abandoned), and I feel as if now is the right time to properly introduce myself.
(I've introduced myself before, about 4 years ago. Seeing as I haven't really done anything interesting in the past 4 years, I'm here to actually speak my thoughts.)
My name is Jano (you can call me Sky), I am currently Dutch and 16 years old with 6 years of experience in map making (or 2/3 years experience, due to huge inactivity on RPGmaker) and RPGmaker in general.
With the new RPG maker MV around, I felt as if it was the right time to stop lazying around and do stuff. Whether I'll be active or not, I do not know.
I do know that I look forward to posting my interests and that sort of stuff around the forums.
(And shamelessly boost my projects and map making ego in the screenshot thread)
(Give me a few weeks time and I won't be much proper anymore. Just a quick heads up)

MV is OUT!
author=SgtMettoolauthor=JosephSeraphI can really only see this being okay in a multiplayer adaption of this type of game. But for a single-player RPG Maker game this would be hideous.
It will probably look "fine" (no issues) but the tiles to screen ratio will be something like this:
>w>
For me this is unnaceptable in a regular RPG >w>
Y
I guess this is only a matter of opinion, but I personally think that it could be quite nifty. But then again, RPGMV is still brand new and there have been no plans made (as far as I know) about any games with an absurdly large screen ratio.
So I guess we'll have to see how things work out in a few weeks or months, for whomever may create a 1080p game.

I just found out that I can place trees over one another and they wont delete parts of each other.
This just keeps getting better
EDIT: what I'm going on about
As a mapper, I can agree on this;

MV is OUT!
author=Froggeauthor=Crazenice? NICE?! THAT CHARACTER GEN IS MY NEW WIFE K FORGET ALL ABOUT WOLF RPG EDITOR'S FACE GEN THIS IS WAY BETTER!
character generator is nice though
I've been playing with the character gen for 3/4 hours now.
What I do notice, however. And I don't know if this is only me, but whenever I try to change some stats (or percentage based stuff ec. traits, effects), RPG Maker MV doesn't react for god knows how long and it shuts down, which made me sad after realizing that 3/4 hours of non-stop progress was lost due to me trying to change some traits for enemies.
Anybody else with this problem regarding RPG maker MV?

@BizarreMonkey, I think this looks really cool, although I do personally think that the pile of trash besides the boxes on top of the 2nd roof looks a bit weird, but that might be me.
So yeah, new guy with new screenshot incoming. Pretty hyped to work with RPG Maker MV although the standard tileset is still the same as in RPG Maker VX and VX Ace.
Probably going to add some more details later on and fill up the part at the top right, but this is more of a sketch for what I'll be doing for the next 19 days, before I buy RPG Maker MV.
Feedback and criticism would be much appreciated;

@Enka, I feel as if there's too much space in the house itself. I like everything honestly, but the hallway to the right feels... empty is how I should describe it. The shape and atmosphere are fine though :)
But then again I'm still fairly new and have zero game making experience, besides making maps
Anyways, discussing this subject; I decided to open up RPG Maker VX Ace after a few years of being inactive and try to work on some maps for a project I'm planning on staying on, instead of slacking off and run off doing something else.
(Picture is pretty big so I decided to hide the picture behind a tab I suppose.

The Screenshot Topic Returns
Makes me remind of a NES controller,
I think that the map looks a bit basic and could use a bit of variety here and there, but overall, but if it indeed was meant to look like a NES controller, and pretty basic, I think you did a good job,
If it wasn't on purpose, then I think that you should add a bit more variety in the walls and such too (As in making it less... square, try to move a segment of the wall down so it has a more natural shape),
I love the idea though from what I've read.
In the meantime, as an RMXP developer I have a picture too laying around which I would like some advice on:
