new rule: all games must utilize zeuzio's avatar in some way

This is an amazing idea.

This looks quite beautiful. I like the widescreen-like black bars.

author=Frogge
Same, those bars are pretty epic.

Cheers, guys. Probably going to implement them throughout the whole game (both in the cutscenes and the normal gameplay itself, besides battles ofc. ) to create this ''HD'' or 16:9 effect, so this should be something new and fun to work with.

Is this a title that appears in game? The title seems hidden behind the fade on the bottom half of the screen. Unless this screen is in the process of fading out.

I'm currently thinking of a way to implement the title (could still use a better name instead of Bandits of Tynael tbh), without making it look like a one frame screenshot or photo like most RMN Games, then again, RMMV is pretty new and with 0 scripting experience, I have no idea how to create an in-game invent leading to a good intro screen.

We'll see along the way.

hello it's me

A bird once shat on me while I was eating. :c

Welcome to RMN.

I think that Joseph has said enough.

Looking for a fast mapper starting now with RMMV!

Just got RPG Maker MV (trial version atm, will switch to full version when I have the money) and working on a project myself, but I can force some free time to create maps for your project.

Just hit me up with the details, I can show you some of my works and maybe we can sort things out.

*bump*

I have no idea what's going to happen or what I should expect at all.

Count me in.

Thoughts on RPG Maker MV?

author=BizarreMonkey
What thoroughly impressed me was the music. After the clown-college freakshow that was Town5 from VX, now I'm hearing everything is atleast decent, and some near on par with Uematsu's work.

Battle3, Dungeon7, Theme4 and Town4 are among my favourites, but so much of this is good.

I thoroughly agree on the music.
I've never been fan of the music of previous RPG Maker engines, but this time around everything sounds good. I'm especially fan of some scene-tracks, theme-tracks and battle-tracks. Especially regarding the project I'm currently working on, everything fits so well.

I'm actually pretty sure that most of the standard music will work just fine with my project, and that is what makes me more happy than it should.

Thoughts on RPG Maker MV?

So RPG Maker MV has been out for almost a week now, a lot of people have been hyped about it and I also see a lot of people checking out this new hype regarding the engine, and I also see a lot of disappointment and discussion on some threads (''RPG Maker MV is a huge step backwards'').

With all the hype, there will be questions, disappointment and also people being, really, really happy about some things.

So here is my question for everyone showing a bit of interest in the new engine; What are your thoughts on the new RPG Maker?

As someone coming from RPG Maker XP, I enjoy the new overlapping feature while mapping (some of you may have seen me post some forest-y stuff in the Screenshot Survival), but I'm also slightly disappointed that the RMN tilesets are still the same as RPG Maker VX and VX Ace.

So those are my thoughts and opinions about MV, what about yours?

The piano would (nearly) touch the ceiling, but not actually stick through it. If it were up 1 tile higher, then it would be sticking through.
How would the kitchen be made bigger when it's already up against the entrance? Can't move it a tile up because then it would block the area to the piano (**** MV for not having square passage). Same for the dining area, how is it supposed to be bigger without obstructing the walking area?

Maybe make the map one or two tiles higher and one or two tiles wider; it really depends.
I personally feel that the space regarding the dining area might be less empty if the whole kitchen is shoved 1 tile to the left; but that might be my personal preference;

Maybe an example of how it might work, but I'm not entirely sure, (probably looks nicer with all the furniture and that half-roof thingy you did with the kitchen);

Also, regarding my own project; still trying to figure out the best way to make a forest with RPG Maker MV, without using the giant tree tiles. So I guess this is something for a start.
