Can our art DESTROY us?
I've been thinking about this ever since my left hand started acting up. For those who entered the 2014 IGMC I'm sure you had to make a lot of sacrifices for your entry. Time, attention, energy, perhaps money. I tracked the time I spent on my entry and it equated to almost 2.5 full work weeks! I had to say "No" to my family on a few occasions to make sure it was finished in time. Energy-wise I actually felt better than ever. I could work all day and sleep only a few hours and still rewake rejuvenated. Especially near the end. But that adrenaline rush wore off after the contest and left me in a dazed state for a week or so where I got almost nothing done.
The biggest cost though was physical. Working at my desk for long stretches at a time with my forearms resting on the edge of the desk put a huge strain on my median nerve. By the end of the contest my left hand was numb. A few weeks after even if I work for more than a few hours it becomes tingly and even painful. Yesterday, I was writing a blog post and so much pain was shooting to my left hand I just had to stop and see my chiropractor to help relieve some of the nerve stress.
I'm taking it easier now while it heals up. I actually wrote this post initially by hand to minimize editing.
So can our art destroy us? While it is very fulfilling it also has many tolls and not just the ones I mentioned here. I'd be interested to hear if other RMNers have suffered either physically or otherwise because of their craft.

Yea there's a ton of menu overlap going on right now. Originally I thought you'd select a monster with an arrow or something and not in a menu but we didn't get to it. I'm planning on giving the combat UI a huge facelift before the next release.
Ars Harmonia submitted to the Windows Store and Windows Phone Store!
Congrats man! When I have played VN's in the past it was always on mobiles. Can get comfy and enjoy the story.
World Remade
If anyone wants to be a tester for World Remade let me know and I'll add you to the testers list. You'll get access to a "Testers Only" page where I post early game builds not yet ready for public consumption and insider info on the game! Plus of course you'll get your name in the credits and a free copy of the commercial game when it's done! We'd be nothing without our testers.
A Preview of Things To Come
Going forward the game will be more challenging. I was treating this as an introductory level. There will also be optional fights in dungeons going forward for those who really want to test their might. As well as enemies that you have no chance of beating until late r in the game.
I don't expect it to be quite MotW size. Probably about half that size. But if it does well I expect there will be further episodes that expand upon the main game.

DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME
That's a good attention grabbing title. I thought maybe you were doing some reverse psychology here.

Hey thanks nhubi. I definitely went with a more prose approach for that one. It was sort of a spontaneous review. Well, less of a review and more of me just trying to entice people to play it. I think the dev hasn't seen it yet. He hasn't commented on the other 5 star review of his game either.
I enjoy your reviews too. I commend you for reviewing games you didn't necessarily like. I haven't really done that recently. I tend to just stop playing a game if I'm not engaged and leave a comment at most.

I just submitted my review for this week for In Arcem Miseria. It's 1500 words so it's a bit of a slog. I'm experimenting with different review styles until I find one I like. This one is a lot more structured than my previous review which was more freeform. Not sure which I prefer. I think the shorter more flowy ones are probably better. Certainly easier to write.
Oh and congrats to Caz! *yay*
