Indiana Jones 4

Agreed. I can't even rank it higher than Temple of Doom, however meh is the perfect way to describe it.

The first half of the film felt Indy'esque enough, but like kentona said, when the premise was fully realized later on, it sucked big. By the end it didn't feel anything like an Indiana Jones movie, except for some puzzle/trap scenes. I can only assume Lucas was relieving himself in the bathroom when he came up with most of the story. That and the recent(relative) trend of Spielberg and Lucas stroking their CGI sticks continued, as the film had so much CGI it felt out of place in most scenes. I really wish they stuck with more traditional sets/filmed on location and the use of good ol' pyrotechnics.

On another note, I had no complaints with the actors/actresses, including Shia LeBeouf. I remember a lot of people worrying about LeBeouf being in it, but he did a decent job and was not, by far, one of the films major problems. Actually his character was semi-amusing and served as a pretty good side-kick roll.

Starcraft or Warcraft III?

WC and SC are both on tv in Korea, and other parts of the world. Not sure how that should affect your choice at all but...

Hold it! Are you saying that there's actual shows based on SC and WC airing around the world? Or are they simply broadcasts of international tournaments? If they're the former, that's pretty awesome.

Also, I vote for SC as well. I like WCIII, but SC's units are really cool. Hmm... *Ponders about space Dwarves*

Adventures of Mutant-Y 15 Year Anniversary!

2008 marks the 15th anniversary for my first coherent work of art. A short comic series drawn in 2 marble notebooks named: The Adventures of Mutant-Y! Ah yes, I know there are those who may be older than I on this board, but I also find solace in the fact that this comic is nearly as old (or older) than some of the other regulars. As a special treat I've decided to post the first two pages which depict the main antagonists and protagonists of the comic. Keep in mind this is the masterpiece of a 7 to 9 year old me! Click the spoilers to reveal the art!

Yeah I know, I was so freakin' awesome as a kid. Beautifully done, perfect grasp of anatomy, nice use of colors and highly original names! If this topic goes over well I'll see about releasing some of the actual comic!

[Gallery] Various Artworks

I don't know if the bottom two are a separate style you're trying, or simply unfinished concept art, but either way I like those two the most! You have a good eye for color and the designs are clean. Keep up the good work and I await you Sketchbook Pro paintings.

however so did Front Mission. =D

ARGH DID NOT

VW and Brandon are right after I triple checked: Front Mission was never released via SNES outside of Japan. However, chill out. It's my bad, I made a mistake, hadn't slept that night.

Robert E. Howard

It's cool to see people show interest and knowledge of REH.

Shinan: Yeah, you bring up some good points. It's as if popular literary and media icons had always existed. Also, in the UK and Australia I know REH's work has fallen into public domain, however elsewhere I'm unsure of and people fight over it's status constantly. I would recommend you try picking up a small paperback in it's original language if you wish since you can read and write in English very well. Hell sometimes I forget that you're from Finland, no harm meant by that! (I actually prefer Finlandia vodka over many Russian counterparts, I know sshhhh...don't let them hear that)

Orochi: Nice! Some recommendations of stories are: Red Nails, Rogues in the House and Tower of the Elephant. Maybe I'll try reading some of the Lieber books you mentioned as well.

Brandon: Yeah, the setting is pretty cool, it's devoid of any high fantasy creatures and wackiness lending it the name low-fantasy or sword and sorcery. Yet, it's filled with human guile, magic and strange beasts.

Discussion of Multiple Things

Yeah, pretty much what Chartley said.

For saving, it really depends on your personal beliefs. Saving anywhere, anytime is a great convenience but it also makes the game easier and forgiving. Only being able to save at save points definitely adds a little more challenge, but can be a major inconvenience if one has to search to save. I personally like a middle ground: namely being able to save anywhere on the overworld/towns, but limited to save points whilst inside a dungeon. That's just my preference.

As for experience curves, if it's balanced it's fine. Though it really depends on how many lvls you plan to have.

The weapon does not make the character. I'd honestly concentrate on character design\development a lot to make sure your characters can stand on their own two feet. Whether they're wielding Awesome Sword, Badass Gun or even Rolling Pin, it won't make a major difference if they're written well as long the weapon fits the character. Like Chartley said, it also depends on the setting and world the game takes place in. If in the proper context, both can be used.

What would you do if...

I'd sit down to read all those books that have been evading me. However, when I'd go to read the first, my glasses would fall off and break. :\

What would you do if I sang out of tune?
