I don't think so. I've never heard of it causing lag.

Just be sure to test it before you start piling on parallel processes, so you have a baseline reading on lag.

And that does look pretty awesome. Reminds me of Westerado.

Note that this only works for the x direction for now. The extra camera movement if the player is too close to the edge is optional. I added it so the character does not go outside the screen. I have a looping map and if I'm close to one of the map's edge, the camera had to completely loop around in order to find me again...

I could've sworn it's still FullPackageFlag=1 (which is to say that it already sees the installed files even if they aren't actually there; 0 would require it to check) to bypass the need for the RTP...
I'm probably thinking of Ace/MV, where they changed the terms. And yeah, it should be set it to 1 not 0. (I always get that one wrong)


Load is default if a save file is present. It's easier for a previous player to just jump straight to that and into their previous save (it automatically also jumps to the latest save, too) - just make sure to remove all save files from the finished product.

I tried both 0 and 1, but I copied the line from one of my old games that I've already confirmed it works on. So I'm pretty sure it's 0? But I do recall confusion over the number so I dunno.

Actually, now that I think of it, there was another issue going on that I solved. So I need to test this again.

There is no save file. It's a new project that is practically empty. It gives me a load game screen with all empty slots.

Ah, I see you were in the process of removing www from everything. Hopfully that fixes that issue.

Also, I already switched my email to gmail and got a PM. Got the email the same minute as the PM. So that's good. Case closed.

We need more Western/cowboy RM games...

I have an unfinished old west game that isn't tagged as such. I agree there should be more and someday I would like to finish one. I'm a big fan of old west movies.

Is there a reason I get emails 10 minutes after receiving a PM? Couldn't that be shorter like 2 minutes? 10 minutes makes back and forths difficult without constantly checking the site.
Your email provider is shitty? No really, I have no control over how fast the emails reach you. They are sent out immediately...

One last question, is it possible for me to change which email address it goes to? If it is email provider, hotmail, I can try my gmail.

It also depends on how fast the mail leaves Google's servers after being sent (we use Gmail).
xD Didn't you say that without the www's in the url it will cause you to be logged out. Which is what happens when I click that link.

Oh, I didn't know I could change it myself. I'll do that. I won't stress over it if I can't get them any sooner.

Do you mean the map that will be used to display the custom title screen? So far it's an empty map of 20x15 that has only the hero starting position. Maybe the help file will explain it. I'll read that now.

oBy disabling this option, a new game will be started every time the game is run, the event command is used, the player selects in-game or is pressed.

oIt's possible to create a custom title screen using event commands.

Still not sure why I get a load screen. Wait, is it because every time you load the game it gives you the chance to continue your progress, otherwise it will automatically choose the New Game option, which puts you on the first map. That sucks, if true.

Especially since there is a load game command I could add to the first map.

I'd rather not cause it will be all custom. I want to avoid issues with someone not being able to play unless they install the RTP. However rare that will be. Thanks though, I'll check the help file out.

Is there a place, here or any other site, where old 2k3 users can talk about using the new features? For example, I disabled the default title screen and it skips the default new game/quit part, but it instantly shows the load game screen even before loading the first map. I want it to go straight to the map. What kind of custom title screen has a load game screen showing first?
