RPG maker

It depends on which RPG Maker you're using. Is it 2k? 2k3? XP? VX?

Tales of the Elite

VX is still pretty new, so it'll be a good while before some really unique full VX games come out, seeing as those take a lot of time, and some people may be reluctant to switch makers. Mage Duel is great for a demo, though, and the full version should be out pretty soon.
I've got a huge VX epic cooked up in my mind, but it'll be a long time before it sees the light of day.

:The Game Making Drive/Blog Topic

My XP trial finally ran out. I see that as a good thing, though; now that I'm screwing around with VX, I like it a LOT more than XP. I'm a big fan of the vehicles and the spiffy text system that doesn't require you to use confusing scripts. I do like XP's RTP stuff more, but that's not really a switching point.
I don't like the ridiculously big-headed character sprites or lack of actor battle graphics, though. Either way, I'll screw around in VX for 21 more days (since I actually downloaded it 9 days ago) and decide which version I want to buy then. VX is winning.

Y Hallo thar

Art you say? I'll keep that in mind...
Anyway, welcome. Leave your sanity, dignity and will to live at the door, if you will. Much appreciated.

Stats and Damage

IMO, it's not the stats and the formulas and the number-crunching that turns the DBS into something fresh and unique, it's the skills and battle events. When it comes to stats, though, I try to keep them as low as possible to make things simpler and easier to balance.

BOSS MONSTARS

It's a good thing you lowered Cal's HP... I actually decided to play the demo all the way through yesterday, and I fought Cal (and lost due to neglecting to heal). It was actually fun up until I killed all the henchmen. Cal himself takes a bitchload of damage to kill, and I'd already used up Take Aim on one of the goons at the start of the battle (and of course, when I got Russian Roulette charged up, I missed). After that, it was just attack, attack, attack, attack, heal, rinse, repeat.

Your Game Designing Exprience

Is something done with a program like lunarmagic considered a hack? I've always been curious about this. I made a few levels of one of these.
The entire SMW hacking community is based around Lunar Magic, so yeah.
Also, I might as well post my youtube account where I uploaded all my levels. The earlier ones aren't terribly good, but not terribly bad either. I improved after a while.
In all honesty, designing 2D platformers is way more fun than designing RPGs. I can't wait for Action Game Maker.

Thank you. RMN's a good way to kill half an hour during lunch break at school, but the old cunt of a librarian constantly watches us. I've had to make a mad dash for the back button on numerous occasions thanks to Rasta.

My Screenshot is Bigger Than Yours!

I like your graphics. Using Flash for drawings is a good idea.
The Pityskulls look especially good.
