Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy II
[Poll] What is your favorite Final Fantasy game?
author=lonestarluigi
Since everyone is now talking about annoying characters, I'm gonna go with Snow, so annoying with that "I'm a real hero" shit. At least I got used to Vaan and Prompto.
I found everyone in XIII to be varying degrees of annoying except Fang and Sazh.

Ehh, Tidus is totally inoffensive to me. He's goofy and everything, but I think there are other FF characters who are more annoying than him, like Snow, or Brother in FFX-2.

Blackmoon Prophecy...?

But really? VI. My first was the original on the NES, but I was too young when I played it and didn't know what the hell an RPG even was so I was just plain lost and gave up. Good thing it was a rental.
Second was IV, which I really did enjoy an awful lot. VI was the one that really clicked with me though. So many aspects of that game resonated with me and, as I grew older, I found myself relating to a lot of the issues that the characters are confronted with such as depression, feeling like an outcast, betrayal, and more. Though Edgar is my favourite character in the entire franchise, I found myself able to relate with Celes and her struggles so much. Love that girl, she's so well written for a tiny little sprite.
IX is my second favourite by a good margin. The characters were stellar (except one dimensional Amarant), and the soundtrack may have been the most consistently good one in the entire franchise. There were so many aspects of IX that I flat out LOVED, but VI will always be more special to me because of the diverse cast of characters, how "WTF!" the story and its twists were back in the day, and just how iconic and memorable the music was (IX had a better OST as a whole, but VI has some of the absolute strongest tracks in the franchise).
So VI and IX are my favourites, with IV behind them a bit. After that, it's sort of a toss-up between V and VII. Past that, they're all interchangeable based on my mood. Only golden rule is that XIII stays at the bottom, because I fucking hated that game.

Ha, Atomos. He's 100% optional, so you could have gone back to him later. I think he was designed to be a pretty might challenge if you fight him right away.

I'm not surprised that abnormalities in the first game are still being found. I mean, it did take ten years of off and on work after all and it's a colossal game (most people report 40 hours minimum). That's partly why the balance is so weird in the early portions of the game as well. A lot went on in those ten years, and it's probably safe to say that there would be more balance and structure in the game if it hadn't taken so long to get done.
Thankfully, everything evens out after a bit. I look back on the first half or so of the game with disdain these days, but I still think most of the second half holds up. I may also feel this way due to the fact that the writing is just so much better in the sequel, which I'm busily trying to finish.

Beta test? There isn't anything of the sort, I just have testers combing through the game as I make it.
Flayer's Robe definitely isn't a thing. I probably changed it to something else and forgot to edit that line of text.
For Evil Wall, just beat on the thing. Throw out as much damage as possible before it kills you.

Final Title Scren
That title screen you linked hasn't even been in use for a few years now, haha. There have been a few changes this then, and I've been using this title screen layout for at least two years now, only it was white instead of black before. The save/load screen matches it as well (heavy on blacks and reds), and it's all like this to match the tone. Once the player reaches the Berona Republic, pretty much every plot development is depressing to some degree.
It's okay that you're not a fan though, you can't please everyone after all! So far the response has been pretty positive overall (RMN, Facebook, YouTube, etc.), so I won't change the look at all for now. I "might" change the music though, since it's also used in-game somewhere so it would at least still be heard by the player at some point. The look and feel are both final, but the music could change. We'll see.
