Iron Gaia: Virus Review
Max, I definitely sympathize. However, I think some of the comments here are way harsher than anything Silviera actually said in the review. As detailed as both he and Solitayre are in their criticism, neither of them has a mean-spirited bone in their bodies. I remember after the MotW review, Solitayre actually found me on AIM and apologized, even though it was generally a positive review, so I don't think there's anything personal about this whole thing.
Master of the Wind
There's an elven girl character wandering around the graveyard. She, along with the lancers, is part of getting rid of that barrier.
Though in the next version, the elf girl will be an optional part of that dungeon.

Games released in 2009
ArtBane and I released Arc VI of Master of the Wind in August 2009...though I don't think it made it over here until September.
Master of the Wind Review
This argument's been over for 2 months, but whatever.
You say, " If he says that there is a problem, you don't argue with him over it, you find the problem and fix it. "
It's not that simple. Here's a hypothetical situation...what if you have two reviews? One says the battles are too hard and the other says they are too easy. What do you do then? Leave them as is? Furthermore, what if you get an outrageous suggestion like "I gave it one-star because I wanted a cat with a lightsaber as the main character?"
Reviews aren't mandates, they're suggestions. Sometimes these suggestions aren't practical, and in the case of this review, sometimes they aren't even based on truth. I hate to dredge this up again because FG has acknowledged it and taken enough heat for it, but the major problem with this write-up was not that he didn't like it, but that he made a really embarrassing error. He says the battle music is "especially annoying," but there is NO battle music period. Like I've said, that sort of mistake calls accuracy of the whole thing into question.
We all appreciate feedback, but in the end, the game belongs to myself and ArtBane, and we'll be the final decision-makers on what get changed, not reviewers. I will say that the comments here and in other reviews about the battle issues have been taken into consideration, and will be addressed in some future release. But if someone's saying something in a review that's just plain wrong...or just unnecessarily nasty (like the totally unwarranted jab at MotW's entire fanbase over half a dozen kneejerk fanboy reactions), I'll react. You're late to the party, and I suggest we let this sleeping dog lie.
Also, thank you HarryE.

Hey, that comment wasn't even about you!
It's a reference to the other review for this game...particularly the first few sentences.

Master of the Wind Review
It's definitely not a bad idea...but if we had gone for that, after four years of production we would probably have a 10 minute demo rather than a 25 hour game. The fact is, the kind of work involved for that goes way beyond the scope of ArtBane's and especially my talents. The artist who has done the in-game art we do have probably wouldn't be able to tackle it either. I'd also love a fully customized soundtrack, but that's not likely either.
The fact is, this is not a Hollywood production where we have a huge pool of talent and resources available. Would you create a brand-new "comic book" template for the tilesets, character sprites, and backgrounds for a game this size....for free? Cause we're not in a position to be paying for talent. A goal we always had with MotW was to actually finish it, and unfortunately, I've noticed that the games focused on fully original graphics almost NEVER get finished. Frankly, a reliance on the RTP is a meager price to pay for the satisfaction of having a finished project of this length.
In a perfect world, sure, we'd do it. And like it said, it's not a bad suggestion, but it's foolish to assume that "following through" is just a simple change and not a project that would completely bog down, if not outright doom, the game's production. But given your grudge against MotW, perhaps that was your intention all along! (just kidding...kind of).

You want to make those comic book graphics? Yeah, that's what I thought. And we didn't name the font.

Fair review. I do have to say, though, that in calling the game anti-religion, I wonder if you've mentally blocked out the whole Laurel/Dasani school of thought in regards to Arcadius. Those characters prove that people can practice religion and do good in the world without being bigots. The game is not anti-religion, it's anti-absolutism...in other words, the opinion of Arcadius on any issue facing Solest can not be proven, and thus it is fallacious to use it as a rationale to force a worldview on others.
Forlorn Manor Review
I actually did complete that box-pushing puzzle, but damn did it take a while. I got stuck shortly after trying to figure out what to do. It's too bad, cause I liked the idea of the project, but my brain just ran out of juice. I think 0 stars is super harsh, but I guess it's good for venting frustration.
