Best of luck to you in your scholastic and career based endeavors. I'll keep looking forward to playing this zany pink game.
TangledLion Plays Umbral Soul
My goodness, I haven't laughed that hard in a while. Hide your shame, bro. Hide your shame. In case you were still wondering, being able to teleport freely inside the tower was intended. Who needs those pitiful potions when you have an entire evil lair at your fingertips? I do find it hilarious that you keep using them though.Glad to see you're feeling better, and I'm digging that snazzy new outro. Not that there's any rush or anything, but I look forward to seeing more of your hilarious vids.

Enlightenment- To be fair, you DID say please. I've invested too much time and effort into this game to end the story in a lackluster fashion, so don't you worry. Thanks for the encouragement, every little bit helps!
Tangled Lion- Hey, anything's possible. I suppose the only way to find out how things go is to play the sequel. Shameless advertising for the win! Bwahaha!
Owmeeye- 56 hours?! Holly molly man that's insane! The second scenario is unlocked by...
Yes, the game is in desperate need of rebalancing, and I've already modified Demora to make her less game breaking. It's funny, you and TangledLion's playstyles are like night and day. You grind a lot and carefully scour the world, becoming overleveled, and he moves much more quickly, becoming underleved. It's actually pretty hilarious, and extremely useful for me as a developer, trying to find that perfect difficulty balance. Several of the bosses could afford to be stronger, and I've already adjusted them for the ultimate edition.
As for the castle...
Ah, you want closure, huh? That's perfect! I designed the story so there would be a lot of loose ends hanging story-wise. All of those loose ends will be tied up in the sequel, with several of them becoming major story arcs. I didn't want to dump everything interesting about the story into one game.
Yours and TangledLion's videos inspire me to improve this game, so thank you both! I had more than a few good laughs tonight thanks to them.

Opening the treasure chest on Marcus' room in Lindale. If you already beat Rallen's tower, it becomes locked permanently.

That rogue NPC was a testing event that I somehow managed to miss. You're supposed to defeat the two light construct bosses on opposite ends of the castle to unlock the final barrier, but talking to the NPC unlocks it immediately.

Please don't make the protagonist of the next game an awfully generic male knight that defeats and redeems all the characters that we have got to know and love in this game + Pandora falls in love with him + he seals away Ragnarok in the final battle.
That would totally destroy the awesome world that you have built in this game.
Nooo! My master plan! I mean...I definitely wasn't going to do that. Not at all. *whistles inconspicuously*
Seriously though, I think you'll find the way the sequel's story unfolds interesting. Thinking about it gets me even more excited.

Hey thanks man, your encouragement really means a lot! The ultimate edition is coming along nicely. There's a certain something I'm adding that is taking up the bulk of the production time, but I think it'll be worth the effort once it's done. I look forward to showing you the results. Stay cool double M, cheers right back at ya buddy!

Wow Freelander, thanks for using your first comment to visit my humble little game. I feel honored! I never could have dreamed this game would be received so well. I was actually afraid the public wouldn't enjoy it, but then again I'm my own worst critic. Still, hearing that you and so many other people enjoyed it so much makes all the work worth it. I'm too happy for words right now.
I'm extremely excited for the sequel, as I have a lot of ideas I'd like to make into a reality and share with everyone. I can only hope you get as much enjoyment out of it as you did with this game. Thanks again, you made my day.

Alright, it's comment addressing time! I've been meaning to do this for a while.
Abraxas- Awesome! It's always great to hear that people are enjoying themselves. The main characters are pretty evil, but I thought it would be interesting to show the player why they're evil, so they can empathize a bit. Glad that approach seems to be paying off.
guillaume- The interactions between characters aren't really vital to the story. In fact, the sequel is set up so you won't even had to have played this game to understand it. The experience will be a lot less enjoyable if you don't though. I don't have a release date in mind, since they force me to rush. I've learned that when it comes to making games, I absolutely hate rushing.
Funny story, I don't think I've ever actually played a visual novel, so I can't say whether I like or dislike them.
dasgibtesnet- I don't think anyone, even you, would be crazy enough to try fighting the Kraken with two party members. That would be insane. Don't worry, just because I don't plan on making a demo, it doesn't mean I won't have beta testers. I'm going to test the sequel into the ground.
OwMeEye-I get more and more flabbergasted each time you post, dude. I never thought my writing was all that good, but for you to have enjoyed it that much, I feel like I could do endless cartwheels of joy right now. Chances are that by the time you face the final boss, you'll be able to kill it by sneezing in its general direction.
Watching your let's plays has given me some ideas on how to change things, particularly when it comes to exp and drops. Someone else mentioned Demora's ridiculously OP reflect spell, and I've greatly increased the amount of MP it uses. I'm keeping her immunity move though, I like it too much. You used her in a tournament? That's hilarious considering she has basically no offense whatsoever. I'm looking forward to that vid.
I'm surprised people are breezing through that hero battle. I suppose it's because you all keep GRINDING WHEN YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO. *ahem* I'll have to adjust that battle as well. Nothing too extreme mind you, I don't want to end up going from too easy to too hard. I'm looking forward to seeing how you react to the ending. Just thinking about it makes me smile.
Phew! Ok, is that everyone? I think that's everyone. I am 76% sure I got everyone.

Umbral Soul Review
Phew, I finally got the chance to respond to this! So, when making this game I made sure to remove everything I dislike about rpg's while adding in everything I do like. It seems our likes and dislikes are similar, which is why you had such a great time.To be honest, I'm flabbergasted that so many people seem to share the same tastes as I do when it comes to rpg's. When I was creating the game, I never imagined it would receive anywhere near this level of positivity.
I definitely agree that getting all the summons to their final form can be a bit of a grind even with Demon's Draughts, and acquiring a large sum of gold can be difficult. That's why I've already adjusted gold and exp rates for the next version. Demon's Draughts have also been made cheaper and more potent, and will be able to be used in succession instead of one at a time.
I generally prefer random encounters to on touch myself, and was careful not to make the encounter rate too overbearing, but one thing that does irk me is failing to flee from battle. That's why all of the random encounters in the game except for a certain sidequest area have a 100% escape rate. I'm even working on something that'll make running away slightly more fun.
Many of the villains make very questionable (translated: stupid) decisions due to their cockiness or lack of foresight. Of course even that played a role in making them feel more like villains, as stupidity and arrogance are trademarks of classic villainy. How many times has a villain had a chance to execute his mortal foe, but decided to spend five minutes monologuing instead?
Thank you for the awesome review, my mind is still in kind of a foggy state of disbelief. It's like I used up all my happiness on the other reviews and now all that's left is shock and awe. I just don't have the words to describe the feeling. I hope the work I do in the future will entertain you just as much as this game did!

Wait, what? Sassa-frassin' time zone differences! There should really be an EST or something on that deadline.
