author=TangledLionauthor=WheelmanZeroStill avoiding spoilers for the most part but this caught my eye, sounds like this will be a blast as a franchise...
You'll be playing as heroes in the sequel
Hey thanks, I hope I can live up to everyone's expectations. I thought it would be more unique if players could experience a story having gotten to know characters on both sides of the conflict instead of just the "good guys". No matter who wins or loses, they'll be emotionally invested in everyone, which makes the overall story generally more exciting in my opinion.

1for3- Congrats on finishing the game bud, it sounds like you enjoyed yourself! I'm gonna put my reply under a tag to avoid spoilers.
Aaaand I think that's everything. Thanks for sharing your thoughts bud, you have no idea how happy that post made me. Reading posts like this really gets me pumped up to outdo myself.
Oh, one last thing. If you want to hide part of your text, just highlight it and click the little picture of an eyeball with a red slash going across it. It's the third to last icon on the right.
gothicmieil- If it makes you feel any better, reading your post made me go "dfkhgdfkglkjfhdladkjfhgaj" as well. I mean holy mother of Ragnarok, I never dreamed my game would get compliments like that! I hope you have yourself a great time right up until the end!
Yeah, Marcus barely even qualifies a villain since he's constantly feeling guilt over his actions. In his eyes, the crimes he commits are for the greater good of generations to come. Even so, the things he does are still quite villainous, though he's more misguided than he is evil.
All of the characters (that didn't die) will be making a return in the sequel, including all of the characters you listed. Even seemingly minor characters like Nebra and the little old lady in Vallwin will make an appearance.
There's a glitch in the transformations so the characters don't actually die when their HP hits zero, but instead they revert to their original forms. That's one of the issues being revised for the ultimate version.
I was thinking of giving the Queen Hornet an evolution, but I couldn't find an appropriate enough image. You'd be surprised how few giant mutated monster bee images are out there.
Don't you worry, the secret of the locked doors in Rozalin's castle is another mystery that'll be solved in the sequel. I made sure to leave a lot of threads hanging so players would be eager to see things resolved in the next game. Azrielle's room will become accessible as well.
Ah, someone finally noticed the demon queen's coffin! I was wondering if anyone would catch that. That room was actually referencing another game I intend to make in the far future. It's going to cover the backstory of the demons, as well as the very first demon lord, formerly known as the demon queen.
Lumielle and Ragnarok are the only two actual gods in the game. The goddess of victory is more of a superstitious goddess, so no one actually believe she exists. It's kind of like when people refer to the earth as mother nature. Lilith on the other hand isn't actually a goddess, she's just really, really, REALLY hard to kill. Her soul isn't indestructible like Lumielle or Ragnarok's, but her ability to heal almost infinitely makes many demons revere her as a deity. Plus she's old as dirt.
Since there were so many playable characters in the game (about 20 excluding the evolutions), I didn't want to give any one character too big of a move pool. I wanted the player to experiment with a wide variety of characters that each had their specialties and weaknesses. I thought making any one character too well-rounded would discourage the player from using everyone.

tks you, and when will the next game be relesed?
Ah, the million dollar question. I'm hyped that so many people are looking forward to the next game, but at the same time I'm a little terrified that expectations are going to be too high. Welp, no need stressing out about it! I have the story all planned out and in my humble opinion it's pretty darn good.
I don't really have a release date in mind, there are some other things I need to take care of first, but the good news is it won't take nearly as long as Umbral Soul did. That's because much of the groundwork has already been laid, and I won't have to worry about teleportation and summoning. Most of the sequel's focus will be on over-the-top boss battles and developing the characters. So yeah, I want to take my time and make sure the quality is up to snuff, there's a whole lot I want to do. If you're patient I think you'll find it'll be worth the wait.

HaoFung- There are a few exceptions, but most characters finish learning all their moves around level 20, give or take a few levels. Some of them learn their entire move pool fairly quickly.
1for3- You'll be playing as heroes in the sequel, so you won't be able to use Abyssal Portal (which makes my life 176.5% easier). As to how you get to Umbral Soul's continent...that's actually a bit of a spoiler.

The sequel will have the player start on an entirely different continent, then travel to the continent on which this game unfolds. I can't really say anything about a desert area right now. It's...complicated.
Umbral Soul
I'll give you a rundown of how I put together the images for the battlers. It might be a little lengthy, so I'll send it to you in a mail.

Not just yet. There are still things I'd like to add to this game, and I'm working on another game with a friend for the bacon jam. Time will move faster if you don't think about it, so try playing something else in the meantime.
Higher exp on the demon's draughts lessens the need for grinding. Considering there are 20 playable characters in the game not including summons, that's pretty important.
Almost forgot, there's no way to control everyone at once at will.

Dude could you please teach me how you made sprites appear in battles when selecting a character to attack?
Any tutorials would really help :)
It's a piece of cake, bro. Just use this script. https://atelierrgss.wordpress.com/rgss3-actor-picture-cm/
What you do is add an image to your game's picture folder called "Actor(insert # of the actor here). For example, if you name your image Actor1, the image will appear when selecting attacks when actor number 1 in the database takes a turn. You can tinker with the numbers in the script to adjust the position of the picture as well.
Let me know if you've got any more questions, bud. Anything you've seen in this game, you can do too.
Umbral Soul
No prob, and sorry about that. This game is so ridiculously complicated it was hard to test for everything. Thanks to all the bug reports from helpful players like you however, I'm working on ironing them all out. Let me know if you have any other issues.
Umbral Soul
Ah, yes...that. It seems like if you have stormbringer and dance of despair up at the same time against that boss, the game will crash when the Phoenix transforms. Try it without using one or both of those moves and it should be fine. I've already fixed that annoying little glitch for the next version. Glad you're enjoying yourself bud!
