I once experimented by messing up the stats in the level up-curve.
One level you're strong, the next you're weak. Then back up again and so on.
It sure would add randomness to difficulty to have a game built that way, but it felt unbalanced for several reasons. Always fearing what turn your stats would take next level up.

I made different images for each small change in the bar.
So if you can have 30HP, that means 30 images.

I'd like to see an LT on Metal Gear Solid: Lunacy of Legion.
Things to note:
- Fan game, but fairly independent.
- Stealth Action RPG.

Interesting Items in RPGs
An item named "Dues Ex Machina" perhaps?
Using it at the right time might mysteriously change the entire fate of the whole game.
Using it at another time might only turn the moment to your favor, like winning in a casino.
Then there could also be an item that can randomly change something in the world, similar to the Dues Ex Machine-thingy... but more random.

I used to study japanese at high school and college, but I couldn't keep up with class in speaking and listening cause that was what I lacked most training in. Damn, I should have done more than just be sitting with the text books. Still try to keep my knowledge fresh at times with the books and media, but it has somewhat fallen the 2 years since I dropped off.
