Leaving~

This is like the worst way to use a blog ever. There's a forum for this kind of thing, you know? And as much as I dislike the existence of said forum to begin with, I'd rather have people doing their attention-grabbing good-bye parties there than in the front page. =|

Edit: I don't think so. This has nothing to do with the game. He's just quitting and this is an attempt to fish some sympathy.

Th-Tha-Th-Tha-Th-That's All, Folks!

Aww, nice way to disarm me, you clever girl, you. ;.; (Thanks!)

Th-Tha-Th-Tha-Th-That's All, Folks!

...Yeah, just a change of tint would suffice, mostly to lighten up a little the darkest rooms. And also to correct some minor inconsistencies, for example, if you access the garden maze from the armory it's helluva dark, but when you get there trough the solarium is bright as day. And yeah, I guess that the 'dreamscape' argument would explain this, but that's not really mentioned anywhere afaik. x_x

Also, there are some other inconsistencies, like the textbox showing sometimes and sometimes not, or Emi speaking in pink and others not...

-_- Yes, I know, I'm picky as hell.

*Looks at alterego's coding*

Well, I had *ahem* some extra time to submit my maps so I went I bit overboard with that. ^^; (and still managed to screw up.)
_
On the subject of bugfixing. My maps have some pasability/priority issues that weren't there when I submitted them. Nothing too serious, except for some tiles of one table that don't let you read the book in the hidden room in the cellar. There are other bugs present but those were more of my fault. I can fix them myself though, and send the maps in again if that's Ok...

Also, while not technically a bug, my main gripe with the game is that the atmosphere is not consistent at all. Some rooms are much darker than others, and some have complex lighting effects, (among other things) and the transition between them just doesn't feel 'natural'. I know that messing too much with people's rooms would probably defeat the purpose of this experiment, but I think this is the one aspect of the game that should be made more homogeneous because I think it detracts from the whole experience... What do you guys think? xP

Also, while I'm here, I want to tip my hat to Gibmaker, Demicrusaius, SGCN and Merlinman. Your rooms are the best of all! ;D

Title Screen Vote NOW~

Oh, hey, look at this! And I was wondering why I was get notifications about NaGaDeMo all of a sudden... What a great surprise! ^^

As for the titles, I like the third one a bit, but of course, I'm biased. xP And it seems the first one is a favorite too! Where did it come from? I don't remember it being posted before. Is it yours, Liberty? ...Anyway, how's this instead? ^^;

T H I R D ~ The Laws of Battle

Well, I guess I'll have to wait and see it in action to fully grasp the idea, but I think I get the gist of it; Kinda like the elemental field in Chrono Cross, I suppose... But anyway. I'll be looking forward for more info on this and the world of Altema in general. =P

Advice, anyone?

Another good way to get noticed is to involve yourself with the community. Go to the forums and share your opinions and learn from others in the various topics about game design, reach out to people and try to help them in any way you can, play their games and give them feedback... Eventually some of that will come your way.

sbester is the sbestest

I think is Ok to give mad props to someone in your blogs if you so desire. But for all that is good and holy, put something else in here!
...How about a reflection on the review itself? It may be hard to derive good criticism from it, but it's possible. Tell us what did you learn.

Reboot

Just edit this one, change the engine and replace the screens. There's no need to create a whole different page just for this...

looks like everyone is coming over to the old SHMuP ELITISM side now that the horror of art criminals has been demonstrated with staggering clarity ????? not to bring up ancient cyberconflicts but that is just kind of awe inspiring to me that anyone here is agreeing with this post because it speaks to many of the very same anti-bad principles stated here in the past, a stance to which there was violent, vigorous opposition. is this like when the hero and his rival team up to battle the greater threat?? sonic an d knuckles united at last

I've always agreed with your ideas (generally speaking) but not with the way you chose to represent them, and I'm sure others feel the same way. Now, while I don't really mind the occasional jab, when you can't even write a single paragraph without a mocking tone, things get old really fast. And it just happens that none of your old antics are in recent memory this time... That being said, I really wish you guys would take your time to give good honest criticism instead of acting like the mean cheerleader squad all the time.

Not that you really wanted to know any of this, though. =9

Also, lol at "art criminals". ;D
