Old/Lost RpgMaker Games - SegNin's Rare/Obscure RM Games Request Topic

author=Darken
It likely exists given that demo is dated 2002 and Don Miguel mentions Exile as early as 2000:

author=DonMiguel's news archive
9.07.2000:

Note to all losers who shi$$ing at my IRC channel: Calm down! Just make a good RPG then ppl will respect you... but you'll never beat the great RM2K RPG "EXILE" by QHeretic. Well... may be I'm wrong. Just try to make a better game. Losers!
P.S. My Channel Operators (@OPS) are best OPs in the whole World! 8-) Thanks guys and girls for all!!! 8-)

But yeah interesting find considering most RM games change very rapidly throughout development usually.

Edit: Actually I might have misunderstood, you're saying the screenshots from 2000 show a much more content filled game than the available download?

Yes, actually the files I have from this demo date 2002-ish, so that's why the released date says '2002'. I think this Demo actually dates from far back in the year 2000 and there might be a more recent Demo.

EDIT: Well, considering it's QHeretic we are talking about, that Kindred Saga Battle System Demo I had for example, it was an old release that had more content than the most recently released one. So yeah, go figure.

Old/Lost RpgMaker Games - SegNin's Rare/Obscure RM Games Request Topic

Hey guys,

Recently I found a QHeretic's Exile Demo, if you guys wanna check it out.

More importantly though, I wanted to ask if anyone has the most recent version of this game. I have been looking for a version that looks like the one in the link bellow:

https://web.archive.org/web/20090831124444/http://geocities.com/enterranet/project-exile.html

The one in the first link is much shorter than the one in the screenshots in the second link. So I'm guessing QHeretic possibly released this at some point.

EDIT: sort of related. I know I haven't been around much but I wanna give a special shout out to anyon175 as well. His involvement has been sort of pivotal for me and I really hope we get an opportunity to meet more members from other rpgmakers communities from other parts of the world - like, it's not just preserving games, it's meeting the people who play these games too.

Hey, thanks once again LordBlueRouge and Darken.
I really hope I'll be able to help you guys some more in preserving those games. That is something really cool we can do and I certainly wanna help.

I'll also be checking RMARCHIV.tk out soon enough and perhaps bring more games over there too.

Hey guys! My name's Graeme, and I run the 2 Left Thumbs youtube channel. I've known about RPG Maker for years, but have only recently started to dive deeper into the history of the engine.

I've recently been playing games like OneShot, Fear & Hunger, and Jimmy and Pulsating Mass. Games that lack that distinct RPG Maker look, and really show off the awesome content that can be made with this tool! Now that I've peaked behind the curtain, and realize the massive creativity in the community, I am so excited to see what else is out there.

Now people have been recommending old games like OFF, Space Funeral, and Ghosts of Aliens. I feel like it's put this hunger in me to dig up more older RPG Maker content that have been nearly lost to the ages, and that people may have been missing out on all these years!
This page seems incredibly useful for people who already know what game their looking for, but I'm just lost in a sea of MediaFire links. Could people please recommend some games to me? They can be Adventures, RPG, or turn-based. But I largely care about original stories, creative projects, and rewarding experiences.

Any help or recommendation would be much appreciated. Thanks everyone!

Yea, now that's a tough one.

Like you said there's a lot of games out there and I don't know if the older RM games will match your definitions of rewarding, but I guess I would start with these:

* A Blurred Line: https://rpgmaker.net/games/92/
* Final Fantasy Endless: https://rpgmaker.net/games/6256/
* Legion Saga (I, II, III): https://rpgmaker.net/games/8717/
* The Way: https://rpgmaker.net/games/507/
* Kindred Saga: http://www.mediafire.com/file/z486br3yg3d0g3d/kindredsaga.exe/file
* Alter Aila Genesis: https://rpgmaker.net/games/272/

If you don't mind the really old ones, there is one RM95 game I personally recommend that would be Baldy's Big Day. It's quite funny and full of surprises. If you are feeling adventurous it's worth a shot.

I'm old now... :D

I still have the CD and magazine of Ed.38. I keep them with affection, thanks to the magazine/CD i met RPG Maker and the Brazilian communities.

Hey Vash,

Thanks so much for uploading that disc too man, it`s really cool that we can help preserve all of those games.

I also met some of the brazillian RPGMaker communities thanks to them. Like RPGMenace for instance.
Good thing Digerati made those CDs, right? :)

author=Bungholio
any1 have a copy of Shadows of Evil:Wings of Time Deluxe?? (:(

Hey Bunghollo,

I believe the version I have is different from the one in the video. But see it for yourself. It is the same version Vash uploaded some years ago.

Had these recovered games sitting on my drive, thought I might as well upload them here. Notably I found Tabernacle, through... various connections
...

bbcode formatting sucks man

Awesome. Some nice games there Darken.

And I agree, bbcode is very limited. If we could just use more HTML/CSS functions/tags, that would be great. But we can't. :S

Theme Roulette

Infected by Anylon (tho it broke... Error on startup)

Yea, guess I messed it up again. Sorry Liberty and everyone else.

The game works here though (like last time), but I guess something went wrong because of my version of the RTP (some files got japanese Kanji) or some file that went missing, I don't know.

Can I show it to you guys on Discord? I know it won't give me any points but at least you guys can see it if you like.

Anyways, I`ll try my best next time to make it actually work.

Submitted, I'm sorry to anyone who plays my broken mess.

I second this. I am so sorry for you guys.

I tried to make sure the game works this time though. And without the RTP errors too I hope.
I even zipped the RMTool I used.

It's looks reeaally generic. Hope you guys like my Average RTP Adventure.
Except with the... Custom... Medical... Sthethoscope... Battle part.

Wow.

This just makes this game feel even more like a piece of art. Really amazing.

Even though I haven't actively posted on these forums in a long time, I still exist. Preserving RPGMaker history has value to me. It might not be super soon, but when I get a chance I'll find and look through my old hard drives to upload anything I have.

Hey AznChipmunk, thanks!

If we all work to preserve these games I'm sure more people in the future will be able to play them.

If you find any of those games you mentioned, or if you find any RPGMaker game you think that needs to be preserved, your welcome to upload them here.

Everybody Make A Dumb Game This Weekend

author=LockeZ
Whoops, I wrote down the wrong error messages for the wrong people. It was Anyon175's that had all these RTP issues.

Yeah, sorry about that LockeZ, I was trying out the Destiny Patch for RM2K but I believe I got some errors when I tried to export the game. So I couldn't properly test it on some other computer without RTP to see if it would work.

The game works here though. It worked for me so I gave it a try. But anyways, since you guys had so much trouble to play it, I made a video showing it at least.

I tried to make a little meta game, where you didn't load the game, but at the same time the game counted how many times you had played it.

EDIT:
By the way, I saw my game on Liberty's stream just now, and it kinda froze there for a moment, sorry about that. I really need to test more how the Destiny Script behaves.

Other RPG Maker games that inspire you?

I think that great games like Demon Legacy, Legion Saga and the infamous Laxius Power series are a mix of incredible perseverance and creativity, and for that they inspired me since my early RPGMaker days.

Some games really inspired me for their "unique" battle mechanics (because anything that didn't use the generic battle from RM2k and RM2k3 for me was already unique). Like Kindred Saga's custom battle system, the battles at Three The Hard Way were incredibly fun for me and also one of my top RPGMaker games of all times (still waiting for Queen's Court though), Destined and Heart of Evil were also amazing.

Anyways, I could go on with this list, but I'll finish it with some games you guys probably don't know but were really inspiring for me.

- School of the Dead

A comedy game made with RM95 that tells the story about a boy going to a normal high school, having normal friends and normal school activities. Except of course he's pulled to another dimension where he and his colleagues become slaves of the school and must fight for their lives to go back home. Yayy...?

- Las Aventurietas del Robercleiton TURBO

It's time for some great metacritical RPGMaker comedy game! In this game you are Robercleiton, the great sexy protagonist that is going to save the world from the clutches of the Evil CCFs ("Caras com Futuro" or simply evil guys that have a future), and their plan to dominate the world with strawberry biscuits, giant tokusatsu monsters and... Michael Jackson music? I don't even know what else to say.

- Drake Legend: The River of the Dragons

The story of a young boy and his childhood friend in a quest to prevent the revival of the great dragon of destruction. Might look quite generic, but It was really well made at the time.

...Ohh, and Hero's Realm was also quite inspiring of course.
