ARIEDONUS'S PROFILE

I have been fiddling with RPG Maker on and off for six or so years, and in becoming so accustomed to it, have been reluctant to learn to hard code anything. Despite that, I plan on going to school for Game Design, because I -love- making games (although I have yet to finish one, haha). I'm also pretty terrible at coming up with an interesting block of text about myself, so I am going to end this here! :D

Giving Feedback: Pass or Fail

@LockeZ: You may have some good points, but in the end: feedback is feedback. Considering the severe lack of feedback some games get, projects like this help, if even a little. The only games Creation is playing are games given to him from the creators, so they know what they are getting into. Just like in any other situation, it's up to the creator to weigh the validity of the comments based on the circumstances and adjust (or don't) accordingly.

Rework The Dead: Evil Review

From what I have played of it, this review feels pretty accurate. Very much deserving the feature it received.

Laguna, kiros,ward sprites

I suppose I did jump the gun a little. If you're meaning charsets, yeah, that shouldn't be a HUGE task to undertake. Battle characters and shit like that on the other hand, probably more so. Haha

Dream Maker: New Engine -> Ruby, SDL & GTK

The engine is entirely in Portuguese and includes a reference book (also in Portuguese) of script functions for ease of use and learning.

Sprites with swords

Please be more specific and gives us more details. We need to know the type of engine you are using, at the very least.

But, if I am assuming correctly, you are using Rm2k3. Yeah, if you want your character to be holding the weapon beforehand it has to be a part of the sprite. Rm2k3 only uses it's Battle Weapon junk when the character is attacking.

Laguna, kiros,ward sprites

The chances of finding this are extremely, extremely slim. FFVIII was a 3d game which kind of makes it ridiculous to rip the sprites, which are not even actual sprites. Your only option (besides learning to sprite yourself) would be to ask someone to make them for you, and the chances of that happening are also extremely, extremely slim.

I checked the Spriter's Resource and Charas; neither site has the stuff you are requesting.

The trees look fine to me. Not exactly sure where the "horrible" comes in.

That's how you post pictures.

Battler and Charset RPGmaker 2003

I recommend pulling out battle characters from the RTP and setting them up near your new guy as you edit. Then, pull the colors you need from them instead of picking out standard paint colors. This will help your colors blend together better, as they will be from the same palette. Also, with those characters you pull, try to find ones that wear similar clothing to your hero and use them as a reference for shape and shading.
