ARIEDONUS'S PROFILE

I have been fiddling with RPG Maker on and off for six or so years, and in becoming so accustomed to it, have been reluctant to learn to hard code anything. Despite that, I plan on going to school for Game Design, because I -love- making games (although I have yet to finish one, haha). I'm also pretty terrible at coming up with an interesting block of text about myself, so I am going to end this here! :D

This is the appropriate forum for a request like this, there's no reason to go moving it.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

I've been playing Fable III as of late. While I'm digging it overall, I'm somewhat on the fence about the big changes they made to the interface as a whole. I didn't like the convoluted menus of Fable II, but I don't think the Sanctuary was the solution to that issue. Plus, it brings a lot of issues in terms of believability for me. I know it is a fantasy game, but I can't stand the idea that I can teleport to my sanctuary, change my outfit, weapons, check my achievements, and return to a fight I started five minutes ago. You would think my enemies would be like "Screw this" and run off at some point.

So I heard that Introductions are going byebye soon...

...You mean I'm not the only person around here who has played RO before? Good times, but WoW replaced it long ago. :P

Anyway, funny you should mention wanting to be a moderator. Moderation positions are opening/have opened up, because WIP is implementing a warning system for the site. May want to shoot him a message sometime. :]

My Systems are not Optimized for Good Introductions

Welcome, glad to have you. Reviews are good. Games are good. I think I like you. :]

Project: Journey (An Invitation)

Honestly, requests like this are better made when your game has neared the point of completion and you are looking to add the finishing touches. That way, those who choose to help won't feel like their hard work could go down the drain because the project dies out. Also, the "Balancer" job is what beta-testers are for, and they can do it better than one person could, really. Getting various players of various skill-levels will help you get a better reading on how difficult the battles actually are.

Help with VX!

You need to be more specific than that when it comes to what script you are using, as compatibility issues will vary depending on the script.

If you are using the Tankentai Sideview Battle System, this explains how to do it if you scroll down some.

Not sure about the other battle systems, though. Generally, it's a good idea to check out the topic where you got the script, because they tend to post compatibility lists that help with issues like this.

Rpg maker VX

That program/script combo should be able to fulfill your needs. It allows you to switch chipsets whenever you feel the need with the aid of a script and the program allows you to map everything correctly.

EDIT: Changed the link. The one I posted earlier didn't have the instructions, downloads, etc.

Mechanics designer seeking map designer

Potential mappers would be more apt to volunteer their services if you give them more information. What you have so far is a good base, but more details like the rough outline of the story and whatnot would be great. Also, the kind of maker you are using is pretty important, as some of us are probably more experienced mapping in certain makers. (I'm assuming you are using XP or VX, since you're using Ruby, but it still needs to be narrowed down.)

Good luck in finding help! I would offer my services, but I'm pretty busy as it is with work, school, *insert a bunch of shit that takes up my time*. :]

ModernAlgebra's Message System

Modernalgebra is pretty active on Rmrk.net from what I've seen. If we can't help, you may want to hit him up.

Blizzard releases a bad game.Hahahaha.

Gotta love Blizz. We should give them all the failed franchises and watch them turn into gold. Very, very, very slowly.

I loved FF9 and XII, BTW. Guess I'm in the minority. FFIV is another of my favorites.

FFXII was a pretty great game and I loved pretty much every minute of it. Considering going back through it, if I can get my hands on it again.
