Tales From The Reaper

Well, maybe, maybe not. I'm currently having an issue with that exact part. Since it's saving internally for some reason, it's not leaving a lsd file. No lsd file means save_detector can't work, and I get essentially video every time. Until/unless someone can help, I'm moving the file to the introduction so you can load the game without seeing that every time.

Update.

Tales From The Reaper

Oh. That video should stop once you save (it's based off the unsaved status). That being said, either there's some bug, or one of my patches is interfering, because at my end I don't see lsd save files. I'm not getting any video at my end tho, because I have a save file.

You know Solitayre, that has been bothering me for a while. How do I not make a complete 'Mary-Sue' character, without turning her into a complete 'Anti-Sue'? That has always troubled me when it comes to developing my female lead characters.
I don't want to turn Laine into a complete bad-ass, either, so it's going to take some balancing of her character to get things just right, though. But it's still too early to tell, so I'll release my game when it is out of the beta-testing stage, and ready for a public release.

@Ghost: Yeah, Rolf is a little too similar to Ralph, but I never had that in mind... >< And maybe I overdid the overlays a little too much...

In general, if a character is overpowering, you either downplay this (make her weaker later on, make better characters come along, maybe everyone in that world is this badass) or you upplay it. By this I mean, the reason they are so Mary Sue-like is because they were chosen to save the world or something similar (meaning they have to pretty much be party leader or this doesn't make sense). Ambrosia from Oracle of Tao was sorta like this, so I worked with the idea that she was destined to bring balance to stuff. Then I fleshed out her character, made the other characters interesting, and finally added a twist to why she was still sorta in charge (she's God ^_^;).

Interesting, this game has managed to get to the top of the buzzing list on what appears to be the strength of that single title screen-shot. I do so like the spirit of this community.

I'm going to grab this one and give it a go, though I would say that horror is not my favourite genre I do appreciate a good one.

I know. That's a creepy picture, that sorta catches the eye.

Oracle of Tao

Wait, for which?

I fixed the issue by doing something completely different. Apparently, there was also a conflict with betterAEP and customsaveload. So removing both, and having the merged file fixed the issue.

You have to completely remove the patch file and put this here, of totally remove the two offending files. I'm not sure if I still need saveswitch_1005.

I just downloaded the game along with the mp3 file and unzipped the mp3's into the game folder and I go to run the game and keep getting a error "subscript out of range (1)"

what have I done wrong?

God, I need LockeZ or someone as a full-time debugger. I have no idea (getting that too, last time I checked). Usually, this means an error with the thing teleporting outside of range. The problem is, if you're starting the game there shouldn't be any subscripts to run yet.

I just got that on my home computer but not on my desktop one. Hopefully, I can find a clean copy that doesn't do that.

Okay, progress. I pull Plugins and patches, and get "the file Title1 cannot be opened." One, it isn't taking a certain plugin/patch, and two, a file is missing/unreadable. I'll figure out the patch that isn't working.

Remove DynMode7 and Pathfinder. They're not the culprit, but I don't use them anymore, and they cause other problems. Moving on. Removed all Plugins, and it continued to crash. It's a Patch not a plugin.

Okay, it's RPG_RTP_custsaveload. Fuck! Some help here? Something's interfering with it.

Tales From The Reaper

Show me your screen (PrintScreen then paste to Paint) and I'll tell you the problem.

Tales From The Reaper

Dammit, why didn't anyone tell me the opening screen wasn't working because I hadn't updated the facesets? I like criticism, as long as it points out stuff I can work on.

Push the boulders away using the action key. Notice that one boulder that looks like it's on top of a staircase? It is.
