Xenosaga and Xenosaga II made me realize I'm not a JRPG fan as I had originally thought - I'm actually an Action JRPG fan. Tales Of, Kingdom Hearts, shit like that.
I was kinda sad when I realized this, but moved on quickly. Don't get me wrong, I still like JRPG's, but Action JRPGs are the only ones able to hold my interest in battles long enough for me to complete legitimately.
man, for me the novelty of shit like the tales games wears off too fast to finish
i pretty much don't finish rpgs that aren't turn-based
i pretty much don't finish games that aren't rpgs
i didn't even beat vanquish and that game is literally 5 hours long

yeah, Anders' healing was enough to get me through hard mode relatively scot free. making him a rival made his health regen pretty ridiculous, frankly
hell, i never even used his Vengeance mode, i just had Panacea on always. after a while i put his points into random shit because i literally couldn't get him anything else useful, or at least not without dumping points into worthless damage spells
i also only used a handful of potions, and never had to buy any (or craft any, for that matter). i imagine they'd be pretty handy if you wanted to go without a healer on hard though
edit: i kind of appreciate the fact that the game gives you armor that's not class-restricted but requires the primary stats of a different class, just because it means i could potentially do what i did with Sten in DA:O and give my incredibly strong reaver/berserker a robe
(it only really worked in DA:O because it was the Chasind robes which looked pretty cool on Sten)
