Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy

I am in the Cave of Dreams and have started Vahn's dream. I havefound Melanie's doll and returned it to her.
If I try and interact with Vahn's mom, nothing happens. She just sits there immobile, instead of walking around as she was before. All other NPCs are the same as they were at the beginning, so I assume she is the key. How do I get her to interact with me? Tried everything I can think of.

Just to confirm, I can't exit to the left, and I can see no other exit.
So forgive me if I'm wrong but I believe I had the same issue! I think you have to sit down(or rather RPG style stand) on the other chair at the table lol.

Not to be a brat, but this scene doesn't seem to warrant the title "devastation," unless maybe there are other screens with more? All I see are a couple stumps and one bent in half tree, could've just been a strong wind and a woodcutter :P

I toyed around with a hall sweeper for a while before realizing he could end up killing my whole party lol. I survived a few flame sweepers without crashing personally. Good luck out there, you're doing much better work where you're at.

Yea I played through it but it was way too much tedious grinding for my tastes. I did like how powerful the spells were though.

Play it cool and don't deviate too far from the "Seemingly omnicient, omnipotent antagonist" that I've enjoyed so far which requires you to emulate the thoughts of a character with "superhuman" genius, while obviously not being a superhuman yourself. I'd say you probably have a proper handle on things though ;)
