What are you thinking about right now?

author=wildwes
I might put it on RMN, if I think it doesn't suck once I finish it. :)
Does that sentence I just typed make any sense to any of you because I feel like something is wrong with that sentence (like grammatically).

It does make sense to me, although it seems to me you have the right phrases (for the better part), not quite in the right order:

Once I finish it, if I think it doesn't suck, I might put it on RMN.

Except you probably feel instead of think, and, instead of might you actually mean will definitely.

I actually have it installed as a free, standalone product. Of course, every company would rather try to convince you to buy their product ...

You can pretty get similar functionality in the so-called Internet Security Suites, which include Real-Time Antivirus, Spyware and Malware. Symantec always seems to have consistently the best products in the category, although they do have a cost of purchase and recurring update subscription cost

Just go through a hectic week with a weakening flu and long workdays ...

Thanks a lot, Addit! I managed to get a thing or two done this weekend while getting better in the process (last night I finally had a good night's sleep and just a bit ago I had a reinvigorating nap). I will probably have a lingering nose congestion and cough for a couple of days, but the thing that's great is not feeling achy nor in pain.

Haven't gotten to play an AHE entry just yet, but I'll make sure to do so before going to sleep just so I have something to do a voiceoverless-LP (more likely, if I can figure out how to do it using my currently installed software) or review (less likely) to enter the drawing.

And I thought I was old! That said, they you're only as old as you feel and I'm pretty sure your experience can be shared with your grandchildren.

Getting tricked into downloading stuff is very easy these days, since things on the Internet (including e-mails) sometimes are not what they seem. Accidents do happen as well. The combo the guy installed of freeware is a good combo to help you out to which I would add the following app: Threatfire. It should run OK alongside whatever antivirus (you do have one running, right??) you have installed.

If you need help with anything else feel free to ask away ... And yes, helping you has made my day (crappy flu, notwithstanding!). :D

A friend and I decided to do a self-imposed mini game jam today

"Self-Imposed" somehow sound as if some pain and suffering is involved, which I don't think is the case here. Have "self-imposed" fun!

Screw you, social life! I got an RPG to work on! lol

That´s the RMN spirit!

Existential issues.

Based on your explanation, it seems to me you're better off putting it on indefinite (:P) "Hiatus" until you make up your mind either way, which appears you haven't just yet. That'll give you more time to get re-motivated to continue or say "f*** it" and cancel it for good. If you don't give yourself a chance to decide, you might regret whatever intermediate decision you make in haste.

Progress Report XIV: Oh boy, now I can't just stand around.

"Death" can be pretty ...

Seems you to me you were a victim of Scareware. Whether the virus you got was caused by ASPC is debatable, although the timing is impeccable. Are you sure you didn't do anything out of the ordinary or careless just before it happened? Anyway, it does sound fishy, in any case as others have mentioned elsewhere... Another question that comes to mind is if you actually have any antivirus app installed. I suggest you report the whole situation to the Better Business Bureau.

After getting the same issues over again, I would've tried another app to find out if the issues in question were detected by it as well (kind of similar to asking another doctor for a second opinion for a diagnosis). If things would detect by the other program, then I'd be worried. The other way to go about it would have been uninstalling ASPC, which I'll definitely do once my license period expires.

As to being a geek, I'm glad to hear you don't think it's a bad thing ... ;D
