Ah, those look really great, but...

I personally never can really handle chrono trigger rips being used for a rm game. Just too many memories of the original.

What's your New Year's resolution?

Actually start weekly posts on my blog.

EDIT: As an after thought, Take over my county with robots.

facesforce- Why edit them? That was back in the days of single pixel nipples, as opposed to, I dunno, bump/normal mapped ones. I don't think it will really offend anyone.
Really? I won't then. That will save me so many more hours. XD

EDIT: I was worried that it would offend people, but the first two megaten have tons of sprites for the monsters that I can use in a 2d.5 environment.

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

Editing Megami Tensei 2 rips... Seriously, how many monsters in this game has breasts or happen to be naked?! Removing the nipples and drawing clothing on certain ones...

Damn it, why do I want to use these enemies in my currant project.

I'm tired of this.

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

Just finished editing a ridiculous amount of sprites for my game, and now am questioning whether bare breasts count as pornography when are already on the monsters...

That, and fixing my 3d engine. Seriously, Castlevavnia rips on the walls make for a terrible forest, but a wild dungeon.

Haha well, you must be very confident sticking to your guns knowing that.
I don't feel that bad, I put a lot of hard work creating the custom original map minus the sprites of course so that's something I have and am proud of that most other contestants don't minus dudesoft. Yeah it's for fun but I feel very proud of how mine came out even if others don't get it. I'd have to say my fav minus my own is Blinds cause it's very well organized and he used the chipset effectively...coming from a guy who has developed skills in graphics and mapping for over 10 years if my opinion means anything.

Yeah, as a fan of older rougelikes and classic dungeon crawls, Ascii stirs up better feelings for me then sprites, so I am confident in that aspect; I made something for myself, and then released it for everyone else. XD

I am very impressed by your entry though, and I would vote, if I was not taking part in the contest.

Just curious, is my image showing for people...I'm surprised I haven't gotten a single vote...

Don't feel bad, mine either. But then again... Not many people like graphical asii in these days. XD

Sprite Ripping Assistance: DOS GAMES!

author=Darken
Try this http://www.shikadi.net/camoto/ I think it's still in development though, your best bet is look around here http://www.shikadi.net/moddingwiki/Category:File_Formats and understand how to open them with what. I remember messing around with dos graphic stuff awhile back but completely forgot the process.

edit: I just remembered, it had to do with WAD files, but those only apply to doom and doom clones. I probably don't know what I'm talking about as other games probably have a completely different way of storing graphics. Oh well just poke around.
Yes, this will help me a bit, but after poking around the folders, and sucessfully seperating the graphics from the code, in question, I believe I need something that can open, or convert a .gra file into a more standard file type...

Thanks for the links though!

Sprite Ripping Assistance: DOS GAMES!

So, this is a very simple request. As a guy whom used to play 100s of games during the 90s, I need to find a way to rip graphics from them, other then doing it bit by bit just out of screencaps. Basically, there is a game called "Blood and Magic", a DnD Rts from the 90s that I desire the graphics for my currant project.

I have already looked across the net, but if there are tutorials of how to rip graphics for DOS, or sprite sheets for the older DnD games that I admire the style from, I have clearly missed them. If you know how to do this, or at least a site that has some of the materials I am seeking, just tell me.

Games that nobody remember?

Bob the Minotar.
Seriously, No one remembers this game nowadays, and I used to play it all of the time around 2000.
