I mean, they could also go stay at the castle for free, but that would just be embarrassing at this point.

This comic is inaccurate. Brenna can't hit anything early-game with throwing knives, and she certainly wouldn't kill it if she did. She's one of my favorite characters, but making a useful party member out of her is difficult at first...

Oh, that is a pretty cool gimmick! I didn't really notice since I didn't change skill sets at any point. I could see that being tricky if I tried to use her healing skills instead of depending on items. That might have worked better in a multi-person battle where the damage doesn't have to be mitigated by one single person.

I didn't have much trouble with it. I decided early on it was best to divide and conquer, so I focused fire on Gloom and it was over pretty quick.
I think the trick to 1v1 fights is making them more like puzzles than battles. It should explore the singular character's move set so the player sees how their skills are best applied. Too bad Yuuka has nothing going for her and Hope has too many options.
Yes, some descriptions still say Shadow. Good to hear there's no real difference. I also saw an enemy with a weakness to "Spirit" which I'm guessing was supposed to be Ghost.

Continuing my long haul through this game, I finally gave up on my little notepad and started making a spreadsheet to track my skills 'n stuff. I'm jotting down notes of the effects skills have, and I needed to ask...is there a difference between Shadow and Dark? I wasn't sure if they were meant to be the same element or not.
Anyway, progress-wise, we just beat Gloom and the party's ready to go stone hunting again. Whee.

The gag here is that going through Cedric's basement door twice will respawn the bat encounter, making this the quickest and safest grinding spot in the early game. Of course, the quest isn't complete until you get to the root of the problem...

Well, for all you've tested, there's still so much you've missed. It makes me wish I'd been streaming this myself just to point them out and have a record of them all.
But I do know this kind of thing can be tricky for one person to check, especially the main developer. Players may think to try things that were never intended, so they're more likely to catch stuff that the creator wouldn't since they do everything the correct way. If you can find someone who's willing to help you comb the game, it'd definitely be worthwhile.

from XenomicHe even still has dialogue in the cutscene.
Oh riiiiight. I thought I dummied Youki out lol.
This is why we test things. Not just major stuff like this, but lots of little things, too. I spot so many parts in this game that could've been cleaned up with a bit more care and attention to detail, and they're things that should've been obvious even on a normal playthrough. Take notes. Rewatch your own streams. Don't let these things slide or assume they're fixed. Sorry to lecture, but if it didn't happen so often, I'd let it go. You just need to be more thorough and careful.

Well, it seems Hakutaku is definitely connected to the Curse Dragon somehow. I found another one and the same thing happened. I screen capped it this time.
Hazarding a guess, I think it's related to how the dragon locks certain abilities. I assume it does this by locking one and unlocking the rest...which would cause Keine's locked ability to appear. No clue if that's what's really going on. Anyway...
This old man sure looks a lot like Reimu.
