Longtime fan of the gam creation but has never really gotten very far with it, you can find me making a rare "there isn't an SMBX event going on right now" appearance but I only truly exit hibernation for dem sweet Mairo bois
I'd like to imagine I'm a nice guy but emphasizing too much on it is self-indulgent and not stating as such is passive - I'd like to think of myself as an imply-ey guy
On the rare occasion I might actually be useful to you I'd be more than happy to help as long as it requires absolutely no codey or imagey stuff, seriously I have just enough brain cells to breath, I have no chance of picking up actually useful skills for game design

Jackalotrun Plays - Super RMN World
author=TangledLionauthor=DeckillerI'll be honest, When I got to it I may have cheesed the whole thing to get by it as fast as possible... Sorry.
lol people have very polarizing opinions with the wall of death. glad you like it.
Anyway loving the Episode Jack And really looking forward to the Music event! By the way have you considered using SMBX 1.4.4 for it? It has a Lot of Cool Features That Blow Regular SMBX out of the Water, It even has scripts, visible Timers, optional Wall Jumping for individual levels, and more complex events.
As much as that sounds interesting, to make sure everyone's levels compat with everyone elses levels, it would probably be better to use 1.3

Talk about music-inspired stages. :333
Well, as I mention MANY times during the video, that stage genuinely is the stage that gave me the idea

It differs from school to school. In my school experience, the school year generally wraps up sometime in May. This is why I always aim for June to host events, because even the latest-closing school is usually finished sometime before then.
Cheers, I'll have the next episode of this LP up in about 5 minutes and... well... it has your Koopa Rave level in it, which may or may not be my favourite level in the whole game

On the floor or in the air is your stlystic choice. I just think music notes look better floating since sound isn't held down by gravity.
Liberty is the best person you could ask about hosting the event. These don't end up on the front page by themselves! But before you shoot down the idea of running it in summer, keep in mind how people's schedules usually go. Anyone still in high school/college is likely to have more free time during the summer, and less important things to do (like FINALS). You'll never find that magic time period where everyone is free to contribute, but it helps to be conscious of these things.
Glorious Music Notes :D
Hm... I forget other people have to do real people stuff... Genuine question, as someone who has never and will never have to do finals (I do BTEC, which completely bypasses exams of any sort so I genuinely have no idea) when do these finals finish aroundabouts (I know it's a stupid question but google won't tell me)

Looks like a good theme for the hub! I think you would want to find some better music note graphics, and maybe use background objects so they can float instead of sitting around.
As for running the event, there are hardly any rules for doing so. Far as I know, anyone can host an event, but they need to run it past the staff so they know what's up (PS I have almost no authority here).
I would advise you to wait a few months or so. Summer is a good time to host these things, and you don't want people to be tied up with SRW2 like they are currently.
As I said, I made the music note graphics, I'd have used better but I Couldn't find better, they are actually backgrounds but I thought they looked better on the floor, guess not
I'll be honest, I know very little about who does what, the only other staff members I can list off the top of my head is Kentona and Liberty, that's it
As I said, I'm going to try and have most of the hub designed before I try to host said event just to make sure I don't end up in a CMS2 style situation but I'm definitely going to wait until after Super RMN World 2's submission period ends at the end of March, however - I probably won't wait until Summer, seeing as there will probably be another major RMN event going on in the summer (there almost always is) and, unless I'm highly mistaken, there aren't too many people who only sign in during summer
This of course all balances on if I can find a member of staff who'll let me host such an event, but it's worth a shot

So, I've REALLY got some shit done over the past few days, It's been a long time since I've really been pulling my weight on here, but I've re-invigorated my Let's Play, recording even more often that when I first started (which was pretty often at the time), I've set up a second collaborative Youtube Channel (which I will start recording for for the first time tonight, which will probably be after recording a bit more for RMN World here), I've built an (admittedly simple) hub for the development hell that is CMS2 and basically given anyone who still gives one about the project til' monday to say otherwise (in of which I will release CMS2 with the hub into the world... for realsies.) and I've touched up on the RMN World 2 level Green Thumb
The main reason I'm posting is down to my interest in hosting an SMBX event, as I've stated, I don't know if it's possible or not (I don't know the rules on events in RMN, I just know Hali is the guy to talk to) consisting of levels made with the creators favourite song as the level's theme, it was just a unique idea I'd like to see done, as I've stated as well, my largest concern was that it would possibly end up being another CMS2, development hell with no hub, my solution was simple 1) No fancy story (if you can call it that) like CMS2 that had to be well implemented into the hub and 2) Have the hub at the very least, partially built before the event
So... I started on that, as the only people I've digressed with are the people who have watched this Let's Play, I just thought this would be a reasonable place to post this (also, more RMN World, today... probably) I should probably state now that I am NOT great at pixel art and the music notes seen in the background could very well be placeholders, but I just wanted to run them by you to see what the response was

tl;dr: How about this design for a hub for an event about music levels?
