FFD Concept Art 06 - Alphinaud & Alisaie Leveilleur
author=Noel_Kreiss
But wow... simply wow... They're so sexy! But damn, their outfits are so similar... I will have some serious problem distinguishing between the two.
Thanks! My inspiration for their costumes were the Stasi.
author=WCouillard
I'm excited for the prospect of two sets of twins. I'd expect some interaction between these two and Vicks and Wedge, ha!
Yep. It'll be a riot for sure.
Doing it one pixel at a time...
Glad to hear you'll be getting a tablet soon.
My Wacom Cintiq 21UX was one of the best investments I've ever made in my life.

Final Fantasy XV
Needs more women.
I think a great rule for medium sized rpg casts is to include just enough men and women to be able to build an all gender party if that's how you want to roll.
FF7, 8, 10, 12 and 13 all adhered to this rule (although FF7's was later broken after Aerith gets iced).

FFD Concept Art 04 - Lyra Tycoon
Thanks guys!
Lyra is the group's haughty and wealthy fashionista. I deliberately designed her attire to be a bit absurd for combat. :) (Well, absurd for any setting outside that of Korean MMOs, hah)

FFD Concept Art 03 - Vicks & Wedge Farron
Aww, its a shame you're not a fan of the costume. I added the leaf clusters so that her costume wasn't perfectly symmetrical.
Wedge is the last guy on the large portrait collage I posted a few months ago. I changed his hair back to pale blonde to reinforce his sibling connection to Vicks. I also went with a refined look to emphasize his cultured lothario persona. The half cape has been present since his 1st draft. Wedge is interesting in that he doesn't carry a weapon (like the other characters). His weapon is the Mysidian Crest that he wears on his chest which amplifies his magic power (kind of like Snow Villier's Emblems). His color scheme was designed to directly oppose that of his sister.

FFD Concept Art 05 - Ashe
Oh, she *does* look a bit like Vanille. That wasn't intended. If you recall, the original sprite for Ashe from TAY had pigtails. This is the 3rd (and final) draft for Ashe and I've always ended up keeping them.
The green hair came from the fact that Ashe is a very special little girl. ;)

FFD Concept Art 01 - Cid Margrace
Thanks Noel! Heh, waaaay back in the day... the original costumes for the FFD cast were primarily based on their FF4:TAY sprites. This was before I joined the development team and before William and I decided to just go all in and get custom sprites done as well. This is why so many of the playable characters have undergone multiple drafts. It's been a big pain doing constant revisions, but I'm glad I finally have full creative control over the original character designs.
I went with the SOLDIER outfit simply because it matched Cid's original battler (take a look and you'll see the resemblance). Eventually, it just stuck. I think it actually suits him pretty well.
