I figured it out! New version!

Hooray! Those elements were neat, and it's cool to see them back in the game.

The Story is Complete

I would totally pay money for a commercial release of this game, but I agree kickstarters can be nerve-wracking. I build my content first, then kickstart to enhance it, specifically to avoid ever getting into a situation where the thing I've promised to do feels daunting.

The Story is Complete

Congrats! Game done is an important milestone, and seriously don't feel bad over not wrapping up the whole entire project by 2019. Unless game design is your full-time job or you've promised a crowdfunding audience a completed product by X date, game design deadlines are goals, not requirements.

Rainfall: Final Messages

Alright, giving this a shot.

Feedback below.

-Title screen's art, animation, and atmosphere are gorgeous. Soundtrack is great as well.

-Mer's apparently a person who properly punctuates and capitalizes texts. I genuinely like how much character building is crammed into a single minor beat.

-Character portraits are cool as heck, and have this very distinct flair to their art style.

-Oh, good. These are college characters. They definitely feel like college characters, and I was getting a little worried every time someone said school that it was going to mean highschool.

-Soundtrack ranges from pretty good to impeccably dope. I like the brighter, more upbeat tracks less, but that may say more about who I am as a person than it does about their actual quality. Everything's good.

-Oh my god, the phone interface is cool. It's smooth, looks good, and is just all around really well implemented. I just wish the memo option was a little more telegraphed as a save game.

-Wow, the contacts descriptions for Ricardo and Zaida kind of make me instantly hate them. For Ricardo's, I get that that's totally the point, but Zaida's "don't even talk to me if you're not one of my three friends listed here" is biggest oof.

-The spriting and mapping is stellar.

-Huh, I wasn't sure what to think of the elf ears and stuff, but then a character mentions body modding and I have to wonder what exactly the rest of the setting is like.

-Campus map would be way more helpful if it labeled the buildings. Otherwise, things like "rec building's basement" mean nothing when consulting the map.

-I loved the email system in Alpha Protocol, and responding to texts in this is cool and fun in a similar way.

-Minor Bug: On the "who gets sick from just rain tho" / "uh, my immune system isn't good" lines, the character portraits don't seem to correctly switch.

-Dialog choices come along out of nowhere and my speed-clicking butt just accidentally autoselects whatever the first choice is. I have no idea who I selected as the hottest person in the psych trial, but I guarantee they were whatever option was at the top of the list. Even a second-long wait before the choice will accept inputs would be hugely helpful in preventing this.

-A "shit's locked" indicator on doors before I run into them would be hugely helpful. I think maybe a quarter of my playtime is slamming my face into locked doors.

-I don't know if there's a serial killer in this game, but if there is it's Levi.

-Minor Bug: After the rain starts, you can walk out the door on the left side of the first building, but if you try to walk in through that same door it says it's locked.

-Everyone sort of just accepts that this a monster research university? I feel like a few dashes more of worldbuilding would make this easier to suspend disbelief for. The only "this is clearly not our earth" detail so far has been the body mods, and it's cool as heck, but a few more nudges to let the audience know that, like, the supernatural existing is only as weird to these people as special ops teams are to us would be super helpful to the reader. Also if undergrads are able to blab this secret it feels really weird that it isn't just a known fact everywhere else in the world.

-Ah, okay. Apparently I thought Ivan was the hottest. Fair enough.

-Game's compelling. I don't know if I can play through the full demo in one setting, but this is really cool, and the atmosphere's amazing one the story gets rolling. The characters take a little time to properly introduce, and since most of the gameplay is retreading the same area and extracting new dialog every time there's a plot event it *really* leans on that atmosphere to stay compelling, but I like the overall game a lot.

City Hall Complete!

Yessss. Weird and Unfortunate updates are the best updates.

Fake Happy End

Thanks, unity!

Fanservice isn't my jam, but I'm curious enough about the mechanics to fight through it. I will check this out.

Cancelled LS MV version

This still looks great. I dunno if RMN lets you, but you may want to update the title of the previous version with "(Old)" and put a big redirect link at the top of the page, otherwise I think people much just see the cancelled status and miss this, or get confused by two identical-looking game pages and titles.

Fake Happy End

Whoah, didn't realize this existed. Given the hours I spent on A.I.L.A., I'm more than happy to be able to pay for a commercial release of a Neok game, let alone one with Etrian Odyssey elements.

That said, looking at the steam listing, it's got a nudity tag, and the mature content description says it may contain sexual content. What's the spice level of this thing? If it's actually non-spicy, the page might be scaring off players who prefer non-spicy. On the other hand, if it's very spicy, the page is probably not being clear enough about that.

Backstage

I'm not quite sure which section of the game you're in. It's been a long while since I played, and this is definitely a game that would benefit from a walkthrough.

Can you screenshot the area where you're dying?

This is really cool.
