I'm going to have to take photographs at every store I go to, because there is no shortage of Wii units at retailers whatsoever. They are always available in every store I frequent, and with rare exceptions.

I think the idea seems reasonably interesting! I read it a long time ago, so I don't remember exactly how it works, but I can offer another suggestion:
Maybe you could add support for cover behind obstacles? Each encounter could have different pre-placed obstacles, and you could add the ability to move to different spots on the map (to either gain cover to maneuver around enemy cover). It would have that truly epic Wild West shootout quality, where the bandits are always holed up in a building somewhere or whatever.

I've never heard of a Wii overheating before this. I've never had a problem with my Wii. Are you using the stand that came with it? It's specially designed to position the fan vents so the system doesn't overheat.
But the DS looks so retarded when it's on its stand. It looks much more elegant as a tiny, rectangular device laying flat on the surface of a coffee table or something.
But you are totally right! When I had my DS in no-stand configuration, it would get so hot that I was pretty worried the discs inside would start deteriorating. When my girlfriend reconfigured the apartment and oriented the Wii in vertical position, it stopped kicking up much heat at all.

But when compared to the other two next-gen consoles, it may be considered an angel.
Wiis overheat too?!!!! that sucks. I thought that they were designed to be able to be on all the time...
Actually I have not heard of a single Playstation 3 failing or freezing at all.
Just saying.
