Multiple love interests in a serious rpg... Does it work?
post=147615
It's a subject that's played with pretty heavily in one of my games (Vacant Sky). etc....
And for God's sake, enough falling in love at first sight with mysterious women destined to save the world.
I will play that game, and yes, you are absolutely right, but if you find a girl the main character loves and she cannot join the party and give you dialogue 'cause she isn't supposed to save the world PM me. Thank you for taking this forum seriously, you were really informative.

I'm sure it's possible, but it's hard enough making one love interest seem plausible.
Agreed.

I don't think it really matters.
I honestly cannot think of a single game that has done a proper romance story, RM* or otherwise.
You're forgetting Love plus, a guy married his digital wife. Google it for the video. Fire emblem and final fantasy ones are nice. Oh, MnM Dark messiah had a love triangle.

I haven't tried it in this case specifically, but regular multiplication of dialogue paths really can suck up developer time and effort - it's something to be a little careful of, though not automatically against.
AGREED. So stressful just thinking of dialogue trees to begin with.

I just finished xenogears recently and I gotta say, it was a really boring love scene, seriously there just sitting on chairs and there is a huge wall of text of how they loved each other in the past and shit., put me to sleep considering how awesome the first disc was.
Spoiler alert >:(

I guess "mario" wants BOTH Princess Peach and Princess Daisy, huh?!
Hell yeah.

Don't forget about Pauline from the DK Arcade game. That small fat guy is a damn sex machine.
Don't call me fat.
Thanks for all the responses.

Has anybody even undertaken this kind of challenge?
I've played a few, but the creators usually quit partway. Is it the challenge of adapting dialogue with too much love interests so great? Do they quit because it embarrasses them?
Or are people simply content with just 0-1 romanceable characters?
What are your opinions?

Font of rpg maker
I'm not sure if it's just my laptop or something, but many words in the default font are unreadable for my laptop when I play games such as Dhux Scar or Alter AILA games. how would I change the font?
Motivation and Support
I know I must come off as a total snob for saying some of these things, though I feel obligated to say them.
To be fair, this needs saying: The users that are online are usually mature, respectful, and able to handle criticism. However there are just too few people on the forums.
As far as I see, the main reason for devoting hours of dedication to the creation of a game is for personal expression. This is not a bad thing, but not enough when you're in high school or college and times are tough you begin to forget the dedication or interest you started the project off with. I'm not one to talk about the rpg makers, but I am one to talk for someone who has given up on so many personal projects with other programs.
Popular games get downloaded thousands of times, but only a handful of them will write reviews or post comments. Thus, we should encourage reviews and comments. I know enough to know creators love feedback, though I'm stumped on how to encourage it.
I want to say money. putting up ads around the site will help site maintenance, and allowing+encouraging users to use Google ads in their blogs will enrich the motivation of users all the while drawing in a larger audience creating more games.

The American Dream
There's no question the ethos of the united states is "The American Dream". It's not mentioned much more, because the lack of faith people give it.
My history teacher told me it was "To be your own master"
Wikipedia said "To live in a land of prosperity"
Out of curiosity, what do you think the American Dream is?

If you have never been to America, What do you think of it?
This is not about what you factually know about America, it's about what you THINK.
The question being poised is what people think at first, or for those who never traveled, and probably never researched at first, not what is fact. When people think of France, the image of the Eiffle tower immediately comes to mind, why? Because that's what is seen in the media, movies a lot. The same with Wine.
If you were to ask what people's impression of America, the fact is its widely different depending on age, older generation, younger generation, depends on one's life experiences, and ones exposure to media etc etc.
So tell me, not specifically where you stand, but where you're about.
Here's a template for what I'm looking for
I'm a child/ teen/ adult
I don't like the US/ I like the US/ I don't like it, but don't hate it
Reason: (your reasons here)
Personally, I live in the United States and am curious as to what stereotypes are thought of us. I personally feel that most cultures and countries will dislike the US, so any negative feedback is understandable. Also, if someone gives his/her opinion, don't argue with it.
