Castles - Masterpiece Set

*groan* I GUESS I can try again with the Kult Klassic boss, but I honest can't stand an end-game like boss when (1) The stage isn't even that difficult to compensate for it (I LOVE your level except for that boss!) (2) Other bosses in the compilation aren't as difficult.
By the way, the easiest way to beat Dr. Toadly is to just dodge his attacks and wait for him to kill himself.
Ratty I may have discovered why you’re having such trouble with the boss and I don’t. There one element I didn’t take into account when I made the level. I use a control pad.
I know that keybords don’t like have lots of keys pushed at once so pressing Jump+Up+Right while also holding down Grab may be too much for the keyboard to handle. So it’s no wonder the shell doesn’t go where you want it to go.
If that is the case though there’s really nothing I can do about it, other than saying you might have o go into the editor and drop Bowsers platform down a few levels to make things more manageable.
NicoB's Let's Tries/Plays! *REQUEST YOUR GAME HERE!*
Since you’re up for playing SMBX games again want o try out the Castle – Masterpiece Set? It’s only 30 levels and you’ll be happy to know there are no secret stars their either.

I suppose I could add a platform over the firepit so you can at last call the menu power up you can carry around. If I had the software I would post a video of the fight to show it’s not impossible.
Castles - Masterpiece Set
I would but since I made three levels here I can’t. Oh well. Besides I’d rather try to convince NicoB or CC or someone to do a let’s play of this.

With that explanation I can see why you used the wall, but it’s annoying if only because you have to deal with it every time you play the game.
I only said the castle was awkward because you had to make room for all the areas but since you insist on giving the designers there own rooms I suppose it’s not that bad. I can respect trying to do something different.
Also you don’t have to put every 1 star level at the start just a two rooms or so of
1 and 2’s so players can get the feel, then you can go nut. Then again I could just be rambling and probably shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

Ok, time to switch to reviewer mode. I’ll be blunt Isrieri, I don’t like the way you set this out one bit.
Let’s start with the outside. First off why is that wall there!? When I came across that large wall I thought that castle you start out near was the one you enter or maybe complete the tutorial level first or something. But no you just jump over the wall, but since the wall is so tall this is actually harder than it sounds. That wall serves no purpose at all! Get rid of it!!!
Second, the Tutorial level. Now I might be mistaken but I thought the Tutorial was supposed to be the easiest level in the game so people can get used to everything. Not the case here not by a long shot. Hell you even say its 2/5 difficulty level. That shouldn’t be that way. Tone it down mate.
Now for the actual castle: Now why I like the concept of everything I think the layout is terrible. It’s big and unnecessarily labyrinthian. And I know why it’s because you sorted out all the levels by who made them, and I can’t fathom why you did that. People should be credited for their work, but can’t you just put their names with the name of the level?
I think the main problem with this is that the difficulty is all over the damn place, and you can’t tell just by looking at someone’s name how many levels they have or how hard they’ll be when you first enter.
Then you’ve got the whole “every level is open at the start thing” and I can see why you did this and I honestly don’t mind it. But I can see why people are complaining that there fells like there’s sense of accomplishment, because honestly there’s no reason to go through any of these levels other than my own amusement. And that can get board fast. Plus there’s nothing stoping someone from going straight to “disk 2 Final dungeon” beating it and completing the game there and then. And if the game doesn’t finish after beating the hardest castle level ever than what was the point!?
How about this as an alternative; there are 30 levels right? Well that’s 5 areas with 6 levels each. And you can order the areas into ascending difficulty. With the first area, one near the entrance, having six of the easiest levels and so on with a mysterious 6th area containing the final level. And if you want to remove the lack of accomplishment, have the 6th area looked by some supernatural force until you complete enough levels. That shouldn’t have to complete every level just most of them. Note, none of the other areas are looked just the final one, so people can still play the levels in any way that want. And once they reach 6th and beat Disk 2 Final Dungeon Mario escapes the Castle of Solitude and the game ends, and then that can go back and play any of the other levels they feel like.
IMHO

Just "finished" it, I skipped Master of Mayhem's King Kooper's Kult Classic because I found the boss to be impossible. I was glad to see that I eventually found some extra lives here and there throughout the castle, but I still think you need to put some early.
You’re kidding right!? I had some trouble with him but I figured if I could beat him most other people could. What went wrong?
I’ll have to comment on the hub when I get a chance to download the game.

Uno memento. I'm going to re-submit The Place of Frozen daggers for an update. Nothing big just some small graphical tweaks, nothing that will actually impact the level.
