Where is Phylomortis

So, I recently reformatted my computer, and so I lost my bookmarks. I think I have already asked for this once in the past, but I need to ask again. What is the new site where all of the Phylomortis resources have been rehosted?

Also, I think it needs to be added to the master help topic, I keep losing this damn site.

EDIT: DAMNIT! After around 30 minutes of searching, I posted this, only to find the site IMMEDIATELY afterwards. I hate it when shit like this happens.

At any rate, for anyone wondering, this site is http://necro.shardweb.net/

Music Questions For The Experts

Well, I have been getting into music making recently, and already, I have to say, I have shelled out quite an amount of money. However, I am looking to better my opportunities with this hobby, and so, I have a couple of questions for music makers of RMN (abley and harmonic better post!)

What VSTis would you recommend?

I noticed that many composers choose East West's Symphonic Orchestra Gold package, so when I decided to get into this, that was my first purchase. However, aside from that, I am looking to broaden my arsenal. I have been using a couple of soundfonts as well, but most of them are almost the same quality as midi samples, so it just isn't worth it. I am wondering what VSTis you think are worth buying. Some that I am considering include:

Native Instruments Komplete: This is supposed to be one hell of a package, however, it seems like it has many things I wouldn't need (such as guitar rigs), and for the $1499 that it costs, I'm just not sure I should go for it.

East West Quantum Leap Colossus: Considering how high quality and great Symphonic Orchestra Gold is, I believe that Colossus should be of similar quality. Not only that, but a total size of 32 GB, that's a lot of instruments. It also happens to run at a cheaper price of $535.

East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Choirs: While I am not heavily considering this, it would make a great addition.

Anything from Spectrasonics: Their VSTis allow for a bit of techno/trance music, which would be neat to try. They also come in much cheaper than other VSTis of similar nature.

What program/programs would you recommend?

Currently I am using FL studio, and that's it. What I would like to know is what higher end program would you recommend. I am considering buying Sonar, or perhaps Cubase. Also, I need a program that is better for midi synthesizing, because I do not intend on playing every song I make on my keyboard. So, please, recommend away.

Any responses would be appreciated.

The Steam Topic

I have recently been on steam more than usual, and I realized that there could be RMNers who also use steam, soooo:

If you use steam, fill something like this out:

1. Steam name
2. Games
3. How often you are on

I just really would enjoy getting online and playing with some fellow friends from RMN, especially on CS.

My Details

1. Myersguy (if that doesn't work, cjamyers@hotmail.com)
2. Games:
-Counter-Strike 1.6
-Counter-Strike Source
-Garry's Mod 10
-Day of Defeat
-Half Life 2
-Half Life
-Opposing Force
-Deathmatch Classic
-Team Fortress Classic
-Ricochet
3. It varies a lot, but recently, when I am not working, probably two hours or more a day.

!School is on it's way!

So, quick discussion thread about school coming back from summer (even though some peoples start earlier than others)

1. Are you still in school?
if so:
2. What grade are you going into?
3. When do you go back to school?
4. What classes are you taking?
5. Where will you be doing "back to school shopping"?
6. Are you excited? Do you look forward to it?

Go ahead and fill it out. If you are in university, tell us the year you are going into, as opposed to the grade.

1. Yes
2. 11
3. September 2
4. I am taking Biology 11, Web Design 11, Concert Band 11, Japanese 11, and then all of my mandatory courses, which consist of Math 11, Socials 11, and English 11. I might have missed one, but whatever.
5. Staples is good for most of the school stuff. Same with Zellars.
6. I am actually far more excited than most years, since it will mean both seeing my friends again, but also time off of work. It will also force me back into being on a regular sleeping schedule, since mine right now is so out of place.

Monopoly Strikes Again!

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/strategy/monopoly/images.html

Wow, the fan favorite Parker Brothers game returns, but for next gen consoles! I love the idea, except that there is NO ONLINE PLAY?!?!

Anyways, I found this while I was browsing gamespot, and I thought some people here would enjoy it. What do you think? Good? Bad? Going to buy it? I probably will! (depending on price, actually)

Futuristic Tiles

Well, I finally came up with an idea for a game, and I am all stoked to get started on it. Here is the problem, I need futuristic tilesets for it. If anyone knows where to get some, please, post in here. Also, if you know any older games set in the future, that would be halpful too, as I could make my own tilesets. Thanks in advance!

Magazine Staff

Did I miss something while away? Is RMN getting a magazine? Because this would be one hell of an addition. If this is in fact the case, I would really like to help out with it ;D. Of course, you may have everyone you need, but I thought I should still throw myself out there.

Anyways, aside from me wanting to help, who are these people, and please, do tell about this magazine :).

Done, Gone, Finito

Unfortunately, I have decided to completely quit with this RPG maker shit.

I just lost a project, as my antivirus randomly quarantined and deleted it, calling it spyware. That project had so many hours of work on it, and is the third project I have lost. I am sick of trying so hard, just to lose everything I have worked on. Because of such, I am leaving RPG maker, along with everything to do with it (which includes this site).

I will miss this site a lot, but I don't much see the point in staying on a site dedicated to something I hate, so, alas, I am leaving.

However, some of you benefit from this. Feldshlact, you will now get to be the #5 poster on the site :).

Also, I guess if anyone hates me here, then they can say good riddance\, and be happy I am leaving.

So, I will have to find a new forum I suppose. God damn, why is it that no other communities are nearly as awesome sauce as this one?

Goodbye

I always wanted to do that little end thing like sion does :)

Would anyone appreciate a CMS Tutorial?

I ask this question simply because I was messing around with an event based CMS idea. If I do make a tutorial on it and such, it won't be about displaying HP, and gold and the like. It is simply how to make a navigate-able menu and such. I would both write how to do it all, but also upload a sample game to look at. The thing is, it has bugs right now, but if some people are interested, then I will fix it later and upload it.

Also, I say later because I have to go to work, and not because I am lazy.
