President Trump

None of which is likely to have even half as much of an effect on you as stubbing your toe.
Trump's promise to repeal Obamacare is a big one. I got health insurance for 3 years when I would've gone uninsured otherwise. People talk shit about the ACA constantly, but it was a big deal to me. I have little faith in their promises to replace it with something better.
Pence's fight to legalize electric shock "therapy" for gay kids is a big one in my book, too. Additionally, his fight to legalize discrimination if it's supported by religion is a huge problem for me.
Also, the tax cuts would've helped me out significantly, and also, the national debt increasing by the amount Trump is proposing is really dangerous for our economy as well as for very, very helpful entitlements.
Like, quite a few of these things are going to affect me & many people I know if they even come close to passing, which isn't unlikely given the new Republican branches.

It's okay to have a leader with human faults. You're supposed to vote for political candidates based on their policies, not their personal lives. He wouldn't have been my choice for president either but I don't think voting for or against him says anything about the voters except for their stance on whichever policy they think is most important.
For example, my dad voted for Trump purely because of Clinton's stance on partial birth abortions, which to him is more important than all other issues combined. I think this kind of reason for voting for one candidate is extremely typical - you care a lot about one issue, and you agree with one candidate's stance on that issue, so you vote for them. The people who primarily care about the tabloid stuff don't vote in the first place.
Gotta disagree with you there. I wish more people voted based on policy, but a ton of people - my parents included - voted based on personality, or something nebulous like "trustworthiness". Clinton was "untrustworthy, a liar" while Trump was "honest". When I asked them, my mom and my dad were fairly uninformed on either's policies outside of Trump's views on immigration. They mostly talked about the e-mails.
And while I'm not going to pretend like our leaders won't have human faults, at least Hillary wasn't outright bragging about her more bigoted tendencies. Trump was often lauded for his.
I feel like I'm in Hungry Hungry Hippo the video game...

Prepping a demo build to submit to PAX East for booth space next year. Should be finished tomorrow (just waiting on a couple more art assets first). Then, I'll debate on whether to release it publicly and probably stress out over that for a week or two.
How far ahead of the event do you have to submit a request? I wouldn't mind applying to PAX West next year, but IDK what date I should be looking for...

Shame this is only applicable when the staff agree with your opinions.

It usually starts with someone saying something that someone considers distasteful, then another person responding with veiled-but-not-too-veiled insults
Plenty of people here enjoy doing this way too much :P
Anyway now I'm currently debating whether I should ask for a raise at my job or not, considering I could easily get more money elsewhere and my school loans aren't gonna pay themselves. I generally like my job though! It's pretty relaxed as far as corporate programming work goes, I think.

Haha, you can definitely see the difference -_-)b
This morning I was implementing a BattleEvent class for Bossgame! It essentially covers what Common Events do in RM - I need a way to be able to interrupt the battle for cutscenes, summoning new monsters, etc. After that and a few other tweaks, I should have at least one fully-playable battle implemented in Unity.

BEST WISHES TO EVERYONE
EVERYONE HAVE A GOOD DAY PLEASE
TBH, I've had a rough couple days as well but I can see the approaching curve, I think!

eeeeeeeck, I'm sorry! I've noticed a growing number of spiders in my apartment. I might need to do a full cleanse soon...

It usually starts with someone saying something that someone considers distasteful, then another person responding with veiled-but-not-too-veiled insults, and then the insults become more and more outright, spiraling out of control alongside people doubling down on their distasteful comments until there is basically no chance of peaceful resolution.
I don't think you have respond to everything kindly, but typically responding angrily only winds up the spiral. So just, like... consider that, haha. Insults & counterinsults don't help as much as you might believe :P
Anyway, what I really came in here to talk about was to post about how great bagel day is. I have a bagel w/ strawberry cream cheese and it is delicious.

BUFFS AND DEBUFFS
Red is very typically associated with damage and health in video games. Sometimes green can be too (health bars are frequently red or green) but when you take damage, your screen flashes or tints red.
I'd argue that red is definitely the right color for negative effects, while green or blue are better for positive effects. That said, this depends entirely on your game's battle system, and isn't universal - an FPS operates differently than an RPG. Someone glowing red in an FPS or third-person action game means they're "dangerous" or "powered up" - typically this is an enemy, but it might be you after using a special item.
One thing I would highly recommend, at least for RPGs, would be keeping things the same between you and your enemies - if blue effects are good for you and red effects are bad for you, blue effects on your enemies should be good for your enemies, etc. Again, there can be exceptions, especially by genre: games like Overwatch use red to signify "bad for you, specifically" so that you know if you see something giant & glowing red, you want to avoid it (and something glowing blue is good for you).
The long and short of it is you probably want to consider what makes the most sense based on genre conventions, and playtest plenty to make sure.
