THATBENNYGUY'S PROFILE

I am CashmereCat now.

~~~
Twisted baubles replace my brain and I am toxic yet nice. There's a lot to me, but also not a lot going on up there, they say. PM me because I love attention, I do interviews, I do reviews, I do stuff. Here for the long haul. Gotta hustle.
I'm working on whatever I'm working on, and I love RPG Maker games that aren't traditional RPGs. Puzzlers, interactive stories, but nothing too abstract that'll weird me out. Just give me a polished gem and I'll stare at it for days, marveling at the way the light reflects just right, inner inflections, potato top pie.
I want to make games with you.
whereas truly creepy films like Paranormal Activity never actually let you see the culprit in full.
Your post lost all meaning once you said this.. Fucken horrible movie.
Meh but still you get my point.
Says I have 1 new message but I don't
The Mailbox icon on my top toolbar says "Mailbox (1)", and it's flashing, but when I go to check it, there's no new mail there. No matter how many times I check the mailbox it won't go away.
What are you thinking about right now?
Best. Ad. Ever.
Am I the only one who doesn't find Slender Man all that scary? I mean, yeah, he's kinda creepy, and I'm sure the game's ambiance would get to me, but he himself? Not very frightening.
I agree. I like everything about the concept of the game, except the figure of Slender Man himself. Not scary at all.
Any monster stops being scary if you look at him enough. That's why many horror games are starting to punish you for looking at them. Your imagination is scarier than anything anyone can put on a screen.
Amnesia: Dark Descent - case in point. Each creature is about as scary-looking as a Half-Life head crab. It's the same reason why horrors filled with jump-scares are cheap thrills, whereas truly creepy films like Paranormal Activity never actually let you see the culprit in full. Heck, even a movie like Catfish was full of tension, if only because you didn't really know what was going to happen.
How planned-out should your RPG be before you begin?
plan the shit out of the game first
Listen to the creator of one of the most awesomest games on this site. All the major developers such as Bethesda and Rockstar, and even indie developers such as Jonathan Blow and Terry Cavanagh, plan their game before making it. Of course, they'll make a prototype to make sure that gameplay is actually fun before planning the rest of it, but most of the things about a game have to be planned, put into document form, revised, reused, and referred to again and again in order to make a game cohesive and professional. Unless, you're not looking to make a cohesive and professional game. Then you can do whatever the crap you want. Just don't expect a good game to come out of it.
(not that I'm one to talk :P)
[VX Ace] Pokemon R/S/E Tilesets and Charsets
author=Nick
Call me an idiot, but how the hell do I get something like this to work properly? I know the size is off. When I place a building, half of the other stuff is appearing with it. I never could figure this out.. How do I re-size it correctly?
You could use it as part of a parallax map... that's probably what this is suggesting. Otherwise, align it into the tileset format, whatever it is.
