saying I don't like shitty fanservice in a game is not 'turning every conversation into a fight for equality'. you are behaving ridiculously. stop.

your character sprites are also excellent! there's a really good sense of weight and substance to them, which is definitely helped by your skillful shading. keep at it!
e: oh my god the link's awakening-style game boy tileset..... I love it...........
(if you're thinking about trying out other kinds of four-colour palettes, you might find Akropolis an interesting case study! the cool, dark shades of the three darkest colours and the subtle yellow tint of the fourth really give it an interesting atmosphere.)

it's probably best to think of them as separate games over our usual definition of a remake. since the project was revealed, they've been clear in their intentions to prioritize what feels best for this project here and now over accuracy to the original game. we can't reasonably expect anything from the first to be there in the second, no matter how much we loved or hated it.

FF7 remake. It's a thing.
cloud's face likely seems off because he's young -- Advent Children and so on made an effort to cast him as a more mature and serious sort of character, but in FF7 he's mostly just acting. the wide-eyed, slightly scrawny look is probably there for this reason.
I don't really understand why people mind Barrett's sunglasses -- for one thing they look really good, but for another it's practically a given that he's going to drop, break, or lose them in some dramatic way fairly early.
