Super Mario RPG: The Seven Sages Review

I think there's an RTP fire animation or two (Bowser's Fire Breath) so make that 99.9% :)

Super Mario RPG: The Seven Sages Review

I'm glad you took the time to review our game. I'm sorry about with your experience with it though. Mini-games like the goomba hammering can be hit or miss (haha) as some people have complained about it being too hard and most not having to do it twice. The not dying at 0 was actually a bug, fixed in an unreleased version, but it makes it easier.

That being said, the next time I patch the game (version 2.0.0 will be the new base file) I would recommend that you give the game another try. Considering your gripes with it, I don't expect you to do a 180 or anything but there are still a few things left in the game that I'm sure you could a appreciate. To be honest, i don't think you've played enough to be able to review it properly.

You may be right about that certain audience though. Our game doesn't get a lot of comments on RPG Maker sites, but has over 11,000 downloads as of this posting.

I agree, the logo trumps everything else.

How do I Stop the Rm2k3 Screen Blinking?

Cherry, you are awesome. This is an amazing tool!

Japanese Translation (Minor)

The last two before the blank are Fire (ho/ka) and Mountian (yama/sen).

Button Mash - Forcing the player to use different skills

In our game, you can't hit flying enemies with ground attacks, you can't jumped on spiked or fiery enemies, and of course elemental weaknesses and strengths. Monster can have badges just like hero's, so you may want to think twice about hitting that Blooper holding a Thunder Swap badge with a Thunder Hammer from Luigi. The Blooper may be weak to electricity, but because of the badge he sometimes has he gets a stat boost from Thunder damage. And of course, since all hits have action commands that you have to time you have to consider how well you can pull them off before deciding to use one. By the very nature that skills are timed differently, you literally can't mash anything to get through a battle in Starlite Worlds.

Battle lengths

We incorporated timed hits into our battle system, so the player has to factor in "hmm, can i time this stronger attack well enough or should I go with a safer, weaker one?" or they'll use different moves just to mix it up. Normal battles last 1-3 rounds depending on if you've acclimated to the new mooks and bosses last longer.

Pretty, pretty.

Corfaisus,
There's also a better weapon for Bowser. If you enter the International Sewer from the Bean Kingdom you can find it.
