Holiday Calendar is a community game featuring site users as NPCs. This event is a (self-contained) expansion for Holiday Calendar.

Liberty is out sick this year. So we're taking Christmas to her! In this expansion, we've all flown out to Australia for a very warm holiday smack dab in the middle of summer. But the lack of snow doesn't mean we can't have fun, let's make sandmans, wear festive beachwear and spread the holiday cheer!


How do I join?

It's super simple to join: Literally all you need to do is submit NPC dialogue in a notepad file!
There isn't any gamedev involved on your end, that's being taken care of by yours truly.

What should I say?

Anything! Funny submissions are well encouraged, the sillier the better. If you'd rather just wish people a merry christmas, that's alright too. There is no limit to what you can say as long as it is within reason. For example, no, you can not submit the entire bee movie script. Profanity is allowed, but try not to go overboard. You can also say something for specific members (optional, of course). The only limit is your imagination.

You can also request a small sidequest or any other specific details, but please keep in mind there is a chance they might not make it into the game.

It's not necessary to make your own sprite, but please do specify any details you find important (skin color, gender or preferred appearance for non-binary members, etc...) otherwise I will probably pick something at random. If you do wish to make your own sprite, you may do so as long as it is in the style of REFMAP for rpg maker 2003. You can see an example spritesheet here. I will be using the same sprite from Christmas Card 2020 for members that joined that event, unless otherwise requested.

Mirak also made this blank character template for anyone interested in making their own character! Keep in mind if the sprite stands out too much against the other sprites I may revamp or recreate it.

An example submission:
I would like to say "I was working on an evil plan to take over RMN. Then Liberty found out and kicked me in the face. Impressive, but very painful."
Give me a white male sprite, please.

Remember to submit as a notepad file and not as a comment! Otherwise I guarantee it'll get lost.

When do submissions close?

Submissions will close on the 7th of December. Please make sure to submit before then as the game is meant to be released around christmas time! The earlier you submit, the better, as it means I can start getting work done. You can always submit sprites later and submit dialogue early.
