to be fair, the portrait is not the cause I distrust you most.

Only "Miller" and I would have been inclined to believe you, but Death Miller is a role so unbalanced that, I don't know.
"Death Millers return unfavorable results when investigated and are also revealed as mafia upon death".
That is the standard definition of Death Miller.

That's what I am. You're not wrong, that's the extent of how bad of a role I got this game, paired with Marrend giving me the wrong picture. If he even did, maybe you guys are wrong?
I'm sorta inclined to believe him, actually, for a few reasons. There's the fact that he alluded to being a king before, right at the start. That seems legitimate. And if he doesn't know M&M lore, how'd he get the name to begin with? Also, I know he couldn't be Roland because... that's my role. Yes, I'm Prince Roland of Xeen, apparently. (I also have no idea about M&M lore so I have no idea whether this is a good or bad thing, really.)
So, if he didn't know the difference between the faces and names, how could he claim wrong. And if he did know the difference, why didn't he claim right?
That makes me feel he's less likely to be mafia.
Okay, I think we might need to do a head check to see who is who. You don't have to reveal your roles but a name check could help us narrow the scope some. Of course, no-one has to agree to this, but the truth of the matter is that we have two choices.
We can try for a no lynch and hope to dig up more information tonight. I can help with that by keeping our cop alive, even if it would probably cost me my life. That way he can check someone else and we'll have more answers - especially to try and rule out a paranoid cop.
We could pick a likely person and lynch them, but again, unless we hit mafia right off the bat, that'll be disastrous for the town.

Hm, that's true. Though, since it's such a rare role, doesn't it seem a bit more likely? I mean, it would have been pretty suspicious if he'd claimed just normal Miller, and that would have given him a good reason to show up as mafia, but since it's so overkill... Who would really admit to that kind of role, since it'd make them that more suspicious? It just seems like too much to admit to, and if he were mafia, wouldn't he just claim the nominal miller or try to get out of it some other way?

Yeah, Roland is a good guy in the lore, so I think you're good, Liberty. It's just that all the last portraits, including my own, have been the correct name and alignment.

Hey Liberty, do you mind posting your portrait? It could clear things up for me a bit, act as a little proof.
So, let me make it straight. It's 2 mafia here and 3 or 4 townies + 1 or 0 independents. If we miss mafia today - we lost. Before voting myself I need current votecount. Marrend, can you do this? I'm kinda tired to re-read this all over again. :(

It's possibly 2 mafia, since if there were three it'd be a bit too weighted. There's six left already, so there may be 3 or 4 townies and 1-2 independents. That's only if there are two mafia. For all we know there might be only one, but that's not likely. Now, if we lynch a mafia or independent today, that will be fine, but if we lynch a townie it'll be over tonight or tomorrow. Tonight if there's more than one independent. Tomorrow if there's only one.
So we need to be careful. I think the current votes stand at one on Gourd.
Also, I'd like to hear from marrend if he made a mistake with Gourd's picture or night. Because if he did mess that up, it'd be pretty crummy for Gourd to take a fall for the Mod's mistake.

About the portraits: I'm using portraits from Heroes of Might and Magic II. There would, invariably, be inconsistencies. Perhaps the choice of using Archibald Ironfist (Who is the "evil ruler scenario" of that game) for King Alamar wasn't the best choice, but it was the only picture with a crown. Which I figured a King should have. As an additional examples of inconsistency, the portrait Liberty posted is that of Roland Ironfist, not Roland, Prince of Xeen. I will touch briefly that there is an inconsistency with thatbennyguy and his portrait, but that's all I will say, as he didn't state his character's name.

Well, okay, seems we can't base anything on the character portraits at least. The names might be another matter, though. So it's back to this:

Hmm, so scratch the portrait inconsistency as a reason against gourd.
I still don't think there is a better suspect, but I will wait for MM and MrChearlie to post more.
Thing is, Millers know that they probably should expect to get lynched, even if they claim. Could the fact that it's such an useless defense mean that Gourd is innocent? I'm still not 100% convinced that is the case.
