@Feldschlacht: Well, regardless of wether it is a FF6 rip or not, it's still a damn good map all the same. It just looks awesome. Even thought it doesn't have much stuff in it at all, it still looks complete! Good work with the ChipSet.
@Ocean: Oi! A hall of giants, eh? But why dowes that one looks like a windmill? Maybe I missed something in what the others were saying, but for some reason i tried to look really hard in order to see fi I could find a face or anything. >_>
Anyway, it still looks good. Great work!
And only Lv.13? How far do you think the enemies will be by a normal endgame? (Near the final boss/final dungeon)
Here are some more small screenies of DF II. The first is a small look at a tiny portion of frozen land in the northern area of the world map, and the second is a special little something. :B

Dude, when using imageshack, uncheck the little box above the url copy-paste, that way there's no blaring message to take the dumb test at the bottom of your picture.
EDIT: see? Much better, huh?

author=Ephiam link=topic=1503.msg31702#msg31702 date=1221429596About Level 25. I'm leaving 25-30 as the high end enemies that are optional, but otherwise by end game they should be 20-25. I have to adjust these numbers, but yeah, 13 is about the middle range, so that doesn't make it weak. And yes, it is a Windmill, Don Quixote reference as was said earlier.

Rei-: For some reason, I really like the look of your protagonist there. His attire, to me, seems more modern than medieval, in a good way.
And of course the map that frames himis very, very nice, whether modern or medieval. A very organic looking forest and path. What project is this from? I'm curious: what is the gameplay in that area like? (Pretty maps should never come at the expense of functionality; a map's primary purpose is to be an interesting gameplay area.)

author=Max McGee link=topic=1503.msg32168#msg32168 date=1221585790Nice analysing, because the game indeed is supposed to look kind of modern. To be precise, the theme's closer to steampunk if anything.

I also agree with you about the gameplay/functionality about maps. It's one of the basics I try to keep in mind while mapping. However, this area is mostly only for few cutscenes and a tutorial-like sequence of clearing a kind of "Danger zones" from monsters, and claiming the treasure. Similiar way to Breath of Fire 3.
The project is Ascendence, the blog's at http://2k3ascendence.blogspot.com/ but is outdated and contains very little info. I'm planning to update it soon.
@ Rei: I drew it, yeah, but it's all thanks to Ocean that this great monster sprite of said drawing has come into being! I gotta hand it to him, he does some great pixel work! I just had to ask huim first before anyone else! =X
