We should build a giant wall to keep all the lurkers out.
The puzzles don't have to factor into balancing. My vision for such a game would be something like:
You have to pick teams at the start of the day (or they are randomly selected/use similar mechanics for 999 to select them. that sounds complicated. would probably stick with having people pick in order to save me headaches.) Then you are presented with a puzzle. Whichever team can solve the puzzle first gets a boon.
As long as the rewards aren't stupid, then it's just an added on gimmick.
I could run this game eventually if people are sufficiently interested.

Sounds possible. Mafia would have to justify why they're not helping solve the puzzles. Unless the "trap" could kill mafia too.

@Kloe If you don't mind I'd like to go after Lockez instead. I'll leave it up to you though :P I have an idea for a mafia, but most of the groundwork for it has to be a secret for it to work right. >.>

The Dangan Ronpa game will... Probably happen around this fall or something. I don't know what mafia games will be happening then, but seeing as it was always meant to be separate from the normal mafia games I guess it doesn't really matter.

I've decided. Mine will be One Piece mafia. It shall be glorious and Pizza will join.
Jokes aside, sounds good, Final Fantasmafia then Cap/Gourd then One Piece then Romance Mafia!! Sounds amazing!

welcome to everyone is a mason mafia! every single player is in a 2-person masonry with every other player in the game. over 100 masonries! no one is confirmed! mason-swapping powers! a golden snitch that flies through all the masonries, catch it for several boons! i'm going to cut my own head off!

How would a mafia game where every player has some kind of role/power work? I'm thinking of hosting a Pokemon-themed mafia where every player, town and mafia alike, has a "pokemon" that represents a game-changing power they can use.

Would restricting certain powers from mafia (as in, mafia can't get a role that allows them an additional kill every night) help alleviate balancing issues?
Or I guess I could check out Breath of Fire Mafia to see how it was done.
