I hope this is the right section to talk about this.
But I noticed no one was talking about it.
So, it seems we're getting a new maker.
I think it's a successor to IG Maker.

I've been reading lots of articles that state what kinds of games can be made, one such style mentioned was "Sonic the hedgehog" which gives me hope there is a way to make slopes and hills.

I'm mostly just waiting on more information to release this weekend.
Also, I think the only place to buy the software is going to be steam.
Chime in below with your thoughts folks!

So apparently this maker is being developed in cooperation with some company called Playism

But after going over it a few times.. I stopped and realized something.

Slopes!
So it already has my approval.
IG Maker had no options for slopes..
I found some pictures that were taken at Bitsummit if anyone is interested in seeing.
Hoping Cocos2d-x is the backend, as I could port some rpg stuff over :)
We should have more info on the 24th since that's when the Famitsu issue drops.

Anyway, new engines are always exciting. Since it has slopes, I wonder if its doing like most modern 2D game engines and using a full physics system. I'd... kinda be more interested if it wasn't, actually, just to have an option out there for when you want slopes but don't need all the other 60 thousand variables and calculations that come with a full system.

I'm sure the people selling it don't want to see comparisons to IG Maker.
Sadly, it looks a LOT like IG Maker.
Even has a flowchart.. which.. I HATE flowcharts..
With spaghetti strings all over..
It looks a lot like IG Maker because it's the next version in that series.
As for the flowcharts that was only used to connect scenes, not actually program an object.
This looks like it's used to program things..
I hate flowcharts either way.
I feel like these folks need to sit down and use ANY of the RPG Maker software that's been made..so they get an idea of what is easy and what is not.
Flow charts are confusing.. for me anyhow.
They make me feel overwhelmed and my anxiety kicks in.

With what the engine can do and the complexity behind it, it makes you wonder why someone would choose an engine like this over GameMaker. The maker name isn't enough to get me excited about this.

Also, this technically falls in line with my prediction for a a release of a new engine (I have a thread about that somewhere.) Though I couldn't predict the direction they would go with this engine. Where's my tactics maker?
