@demon: it helps us determine if his claim is legit. How are calling him a "basically confirmed agent," all he is is a claimed agent. Reasons I doubt it:
- claimed to be a bodyguard, was reminded the only role is "agent," decided he was actually a paper bag owner
- told people to not counterclaim for some reason whereas a legit agent would have agentchat to clear this play beforehand... But makes no mention of the input of the other agents
- i believe items are oneshot

@ozzy if what you're describing is accurate, then the aliases should just be that: aliases. How would stating them compromise other agents? Are they not anonymous?

Frankly, this isn't towny reaction to a self-resolving claim of a role, which is crucially important for town.
Anyway, the items:

Demonlord - non-vanilla, item at start
Oddrabbit - non-vanilla, item at start
Jeroen - non-vanilla, item at start
Ozzy - non-vanilla, item at start

psy - vanilla, item dropped in
LockeZ - vanilla, item dropped in
AE - vanilla, item dropped in

cap - vanillaish - claims item dropped in

cave - ??? - claims no item

Basically, I think the setup works such that the agents and spies all have their fixed items from the start, and town gets an assortment of items randomly showered on them as the game progresses. Like cave said, that Jero has a vest implies some degree of deliberate item placement. It'd also be why piano was so pissed at us for grousing about setup balance... the actual "setup" between the important people would be balanced, and the game-breaking items are where they should be.

Possibility: cap is lying about receiving the vest vs starting with the vest. No other items have appeared at start of day. I think cap lying is unlikely, since piano got so defensive about his setup balance and having scum with lynchproof is duuumb if town has no nightkills. Plus cap blew the trumpet which had a fair chance to completely screw him. (was kind of hoping cap would claim to start with the cake in which case we could kill him immediately)

#lynch cavedog in conclusion - he's probably holding some damning scum item

I also think he realized this thing about the item setup earlier than me which is why he immediately re-FOS'd me when I brought up this plan, and has been adverse to a massclaim.

I guess I missed that Cave claims no item.

I was about to get pissed at you for explaining my theory before everyone had claimed.
You missed me but yeah my item dropped in, that is logic I can get behind and makes complete sense in terms of balance.

I'm leaning cave.

Two questions about the cake Cap, did it say it would move onto someone else afterwards and was it automatic or did you have to decide to use it?

@demon: I asked for aliases not names. With the counterclaiming I'm confused why a real agent would say that as they are in communication with each other, and would not counter claim a real agent in the first place. Real agent would be telling the others not to /corroborate/ them, and they'd be doing that in agent chat.

I consider this to be an interesting comment, especially if you're aware of the first game.

It strikes me that if Ozzy really is a liar then the real agents already know this and will blow him up in the end game

Psy decided to avoid Demon wagon in the end. He interacted with Demon several times and I don't remember him townreading him before this vote. He was quite critical of his action and silent when it came to PA.

For one, if Jeroen is telling the truth in this instance, he basically just immediately claimed that he is in fact independent and can pretty much win as long as he doesn't die. Two, we don't know if PA is lying or not about the color scheming, and heck, we don't even know if any of the power roles in this game are based on color like (I think?) they were in the last one. They could be absolutely and completely different, like being named after famous terrorists/spies in real life, or like characters from spy movies or something.

Between this and the ""what are the chances I'm mafia twice in a row??"" I think this is Odd being flippant scum again. if he's agent, then, welp

The big leap is something only Jero mentioned. Here it looks little off as a reason to vote someone. The whole grey agent discussion following seems to be little bloated.

Honestly, lynching me yesterday would help town. Today, I can only urge you to trust me.

Ok, gotta go again. Not the most confident read.

The fact that nobody else has claimed to start with an item means scum must have figured it out.

I wonder if brass instrument only spawns for people with no item? That would clear Psy, who got it D1, but not Cap, who got it after his cake broke.
cave never directly claimed to have nothing, but here's his response after I proposed I was doing something with items and he needed to claim his: https://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/24744/?post=890357#post890357

which I interpreted to mean that cave would continue to be in the schrodinger state of having and not-having an item until it suited him not to

actually. One more thing, there are several snippets from Cave I find sus and one very towny sentence from Psy, in which he reminded me of the way Cave always makes us confess his purity. It might be the thing.
Like Cave's posting's less solid than psy, but there's also nothing to objectively grab and drag him through mud for.
The one major thing psy did was sticking with his Ozzy vote. But let's take a look at claims from scum's perspective. I'm more aware of red checks or counter claims. Wolves are more likely to vote their partners and follow the information than paranoid town. I need to think about it some more as here it seems to go a step further and psy would have to be very unfortunate with his d1 reads.
cap please remember here that scum had no idea who their fellow scums were

Psy coming to the same conclusion I did makes me feel better about him.

And I do have a habit of townreading Cave for no reason in every single game he's in...
Also just to double check, no one had two items ever at the same time right?

I claimed an item eighty five times, just not what it was, because I can prove what it is, and that it sucks, right now.

makes me feel better about my vote. I've made my reasons for voting you pretty clear, and they hadn't changed when I voted you, when this massclaim idea didn't exist yet.

I would've claimed my item if someone cool had asked me. it's a glove that piano incorrectly named the stupidity gauntlet instead of the idiocy gauntlet. It removes one person's votes for a dayphase, then it gets transferred to them. Has a small chance of backfiring and removing my own vote instead.

I assumed that piano was just rebalancing the game on the fly because I don't know what the point of giving someone, or several people, an item in the middle of day 1 is.

I'd expect such a rule would apply to all items, not just the tuba. it would make sense as a way to prevent scum from eventually holding a horrible combination of three items at the same time. should be in the rules if true. or not fuck mafia players

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.
