Fuck you for eternity... :| I always get bogged down there.

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Philip K. Dick as well as an excellent series of little graphic novels entitled Scott Pilgrim.
Gertrude by Hermann Hesse.

I've read it a few years back, and reading it again I'm finding even better this time around. Hesse has to be my favourite author. Just amazing amazing stuff.

Hiroshima
Amazing choice. It really gets across the tragedy and the just-as-tragic way the population takes it in stride.

lolcats

I bought the lolcats book for my daughter a few weeks ago. We have a ritual where we check out the lolcats site every night, and the book is meant to be for the nights when I am working late.

Liberty And Tyranny by Mark Levin.

Did he type the book in all caps to match his talk radio persona? I find Levin to be the worst of the talk radio hosts if only because he can't seem to make a single point without screaming profusely. I bet the book has to be better; on paper he would seem to be a very intelligent man.

tell me about it. there and bloody tom bombadil. you don't get the same slow trudges in Two Towers or Return of the King.
Gertrude is done. It was amazing.

Onto The Magus by John Fowles. I loved this book when I was 20. WILL I STILL LOVE IT NOW?
Reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in German (Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen) and Death Note manga in Japanese.

Holb: Amazingly, no, his book is not typed in all caps.

Monstrous Regiment.
Very good book. So is anything else Terry Pratchett wrote.
House of the Sleeping Beauties and Other Stories by Yasunari Kawabata.

I hear this guy is like the Japanese version of Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Should be good stuff.
Just finished 'To Kill a Mocking Bird' (very good!) and 'The Alchemist' (mindless crap imo)
Now on to reading 'My Name is Red', looks interesting
Did you think the Alchemist was mindless for all the religiousness of it?

I didn't love the book, but I thought it was a nice little story.
Alchemist made me cry blood. It was good until he started talking to the Sun (w/capital S mind you).
I just finished reading a long article on the American medical system.What a fuckin' mess. Makes me sad ;_;
