Wait, stun only lasts one round? I was assuming it lasted a long time.

The chance of anyone being willing to spend a round for the chance to prevent a stun that only lasts a round is exactly 0%. You're spending a round in order to not spend a round; why would anyone do this ever? The immunity needs to be AOE, so it affects your entire party and prevents a stun against each member. And then it probably also needs to be free, because that's still not very impressive.

So you've never been like "Alright, I'm about to do this-this-and-this and turn the fight in my favor, but I need to make sure that I fully heal my party next turn with my healer's Healing Limit Break" only for your healer to get stunned, her AOE heal doesn't go off leaving everyone at low HP, and since this boss is faster than you he manages to kill 3 party members at the start of the next turn before anyone else can heal the next turn and costing you the whole battle?

Or thought "alright, I'll use this guy to crack the enemy's Parry ability and then have everyone else dogpile the bastard at the same time with their strongest attacks" only for the crack guy to get stunned, and then everyone else has their attacks nullified and countered, making your whole team hurt themselves and wasting all your MP and eventually costing you the fight?

I've heard a LOT of complaints about stun. Personally, I just find it an annoyance. But some people make it sound like it's the end of the world and the worst crime ever. Alongside enemies who hit multiple times with each attack (something I also give the player options to deal with). So I figured I'd give those people a way to deal with it.

The ability I'm proposing is like you saying "I can afford to give up a turn now so that I don't lose one critically later." (since this stun-negation buff will last several turns). I'm also not expecting players to use it all the time since not all enemies have stun, and some will take your stance and go "I don't care. I can take it.". In that case they can just equip other armor that gives them other skills instead. In fact most of the time other armor/skills will be more useful anyway since most bosses/enemies won't have a stun. That's the point of me making the character's skills tied to whatever they have equipped. So you can shuffle things around to deal with whatever threat you're facing at the moment.

I might end up making that stun-negation status not disappear after blocking a stun, though. That way if I choose to have a boss do an AOE stun for whatever reason, you can use that skill on the tank and have him use his skill which redirect all incoming hits to himself, allowing him to negate all the stuns.

tl;dr: I said a lot of stuff.
Changed around the title pic for my game!

The skulls looked MUCH cleaner now, and the words and re-arranged and whatnot. The one thing is that the bottom-left bone on the right skull is partially obscured by Barnes' hat, and the words are maybe a BIT scrunched, but otherwise I'm satisfied with what I did.

I'm still working on those extra missions, btw. Should be done in the next couple weeks or so, hopefully.
Working on chapter 4 of Tristian: Lady of the Lion. I plan to get it up to the eight hour mark for Episode 1 ( it's a three episode game ) before doing another release.

Once again, yuna21, you’re mapping skills don’t cease to amaze me.

I’m also glad that you put the location header at the bottom of the screen instead of at the top. Looks way more polished this way.
^ Thanks for your review, btw. I promise the next release of the game will be much better.
Well, the basic template of my mining town is done. It's missing an indoor area or two, and the NPCs and stuff

Before I start working on the mine dungeon, I think I should make the capital city next since that's actually where the party will go next (to GET the mission to go to the mining town).

.......Dammit. I don't know how to build this one. I'm guessing since they have a slave trade (which end up being an event in the party's visit) I should make the main feature a market....But the port town that will be the party's main base later will also be kinda market based...Dammit. x_x

EDIT: on further thought, I think I shouldn't make the slave trade part prominent in this capital. Otherwise their problems are too obvious, and the crazed kingdom toppling lunatic would have already targeted it. I should find a way to make it less obvious, but still allow the heroes to get involved...
I'm working on an overly ambitious RPG Maker VX Ace game called A Traitor's Reasons. I'm at the very start of what will no doubt be a long and painful journey to get this thing done.

Been working on some artwork, need some feedback.
I'm putting together a short-and-sweet sound novel/adventure. It shouldn't take too long. The main narrative is complete, just needs to be implemented in game-form. I need to write and record an additional bit of side-dialogue, though. It should be completed and available within the month.

I've started writing out plans for a game inspired by Sting's Baroque, sans roguelike elements. It concerns a town full of surreal characters with a sprawling industrial dungeon underneath it. It's probably overly ambitious in scope, but hey, better to write down ideas than do nothing. It can be on the back-burner.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

oh my god your avatar

it's like having another clone of Sated on the forums, I don't think I can take it
I think Sated's is Suehiro Maruo. Mine's Hanako Yamada
Working on my chapter of Radiant Chain, finishing Outlaw City so I can review it, and working on a project on RMW, all the while annoying Artbane on Skype.

Trying to create laser puzzles. Involves a lot of eventing and a little scripting. It's pretty modular, but it's absolutely hacked together. Hopefully I'll clone Zelda less poorly than most.

Lemme warn you up front, having done this. As soon as you start trying to work ~height~ into the equation, it becomes absolutely horrifying to code.

Like if you wanted a shot fired from a balcony to keep going past the edge of the balcony, but not hit things on the ground that it passes on the same tile as, because it's "above" those objects? Oh my god it's madness. You have to start using terrain tags as a heightmap, so that the engine knows how high each tile is, and stops the laser based on height instead of passability. And then you start wanting to have tiles that lasers can pass through, but you can't walk through, like wire fences. And then you start wanting to have events that are multiple units of height tall, so you can stack destroyable crates on top of each-other. And then your game starts gradually looking more and more like vaporware as you stop working on it and start reverting to working on text-based games and making forum threads where you design bosses for other people.

Sounds exactly where I'm headed. Beautiful destruction.

This is why I stopped trying to clone Golden Sun/Zelda and decided to pour my focus into emphasizing other aspects a long time ago.
...Dammit.

So the RPGmaker devs announced another mini-contest. And it seems so easily doable. I'm sure I'd rock it. I have a wonderful concept.

But my schoolwork is in a REALLY bad place right now (although the rest of the class I'm most worried about is equally screwed), and my saturday is already accounted for. So I have absolutely no time to work on it.

Man, it's just one boss and 2 cutscenes. I rock at those. But I don't think I'll be able to do it. ;_;

And going back to my main project, I still have no idea how the hell I'm going to get the slave character to be forced to join the party. Any ideas I have either feel contrived, or so over the top it's comical and stupid. *sigh*
Trying to make a state that ticks dmg after ever action ( from all players ) with an atb system.
Ex: enemy 1 poisons player 1
player one atks enemy 2, player 1 hurt by poison
enemy 1 atks player 1, player 1 hurt by poison
enemy 2 atks player 1, player 1 hurt by poison
ect.

Almost got it working, except I can't get it to work correctly with monsters, especially if they're the same monster. If I use poison on bat 1 and then i use poison on bat 2, bat 1 gets hit by poison twice and bat 2 uneffected. And for some reason it wont do any dmg if I try to dmg them using the variable 'battler' so i have to go through $game_party.members or $game_troops.members, which is why i cant dmg the different enemies that r the same since they have the same id.

But I will figure this out! eventually!

Edit: After 3 days of trying to figure it out, at last I did it! Battle system is almost complete now, then I can make some content and submit the project some time this month!
Rewriting some parts of Lady of the Lion to keep its pacing that it sets from the beginning of the game, implementing some new game mechanics and working on more maps/dungeons. Oh, and including relevant tutorials for puzzles as well. And kicked out the party swapping aspect for now.

I think you'd have to give us a little bit more information: ie, the tone of the story, the characters who are recruiting the slave, and what ideas you've already shot down. The most obvious scenario I can think of is that the party bought the slave's contract. Whether that be posing as slavers, intending to secretly set him/her free, or to use the promise of eventual freedom as leverage to carry out some tasks with them.
