Generica: TNG v1.0

Includes the option to play the original Generica, and the option to use either the G:TNG classes or the original Generica classes. Also features a New Game+ that allows you to play through to the next game using the same classes/levels/equipment/items.

Congratulations on finally completing this, Kentona! Hope it's bug-free, because you know how these things turn out once you finally think you've ironed out all of the flaws. Ohhhh how many times did I find one GLARING issue with whatever game I thought I'd finished. So all the best!

Guess I'll have to download this version now and replace it with the one I had. =P
I might just take that Hero's Realm approach and say "bugs you say? noted, but I am probably not going to fix it unless it's gamebreaking. Thanks!"
Pretty much. Some bugs add a strangely nostalgic factor to some games, especially if it's in regards to certain pieces of equipment not working properly, enemy skill malfunctions, etc. Like all great games =B

I know that in my latest project a bosses Def-down ability does absolutely nothing. But oh well.
I had a "Dispel" spell bug that instead of removing all buffs, it APPLIED all buffs. Fun times! I think it was in Hellion...

The only games that got that so far have been Hero's Realm and Runelords.

This is the LAST GAME I plan on making in RM2k3, so I can put that nasty bug behind me FOREVERMORE.

e: this game isn't all that big. It's maaaaybe 25% bigger than the original Generica, and that game took me 10 days of frenzied gammak. This one is probably 3 months worth of lacksidaisical effort stretched over a 4 year period.
Where did you encounter that error, GRS? Because I never encountered it during my play-through.
Tales of HR. Thankfully I never got hit by it but its a well known and severe bug with HR that nobody has figured out. Only in HR too (never heard of it in Runelords) so I always associated Kentona with it

e: My sneaking suspicion is MSE is caused by some music track when it repeated and the stars aligned right or something but I have zero evidence to back any of that up

Congrats, kentona! I knew you could do it. Now let the bug parade start ... (hopefully not the gamebreaking kind!). Oh, yeah. I get to put it in my mental queue of gams to play.
Why isnt this at 85000 downloads yet?

j/k i'm in it for the makerscore.
Bugs/Nitpicks:

*Slayer King still has that old bug with the reflected Chaos Wail crashing the game. (I'm assuming it has something to do with summoning something that doesn't exist.)
*In the dialogue before the Yggrasil Tree, one of the guys faces the wrong way while talking.
*The switch to open the gates in the Yggrasil Tree town doesn't seem to work. This means backtracking a lot to get to the final dungeon again. Not fun.
*The Slayer King battle should end once he dies, not once all the Wailing Souls are dead too.

On the plus side, here's the positive things since the beta demo!
*That battlespeed patch is a GODSEND. Seriously. It speeds up battles to the point that I can actually fight 8XSlimes.
*I like the new selectors at the start of the game. It's a nice touch.
*The final boss was pretty interesting.
*Phaseblade owns.

Overall, I liked it. It's the sequel we've been waiting 4 years for!
Chaos Wail crashing bug? That sounds new to me. Doesn't ring a bell. I will look into it.

As for the wall - oops. but on the plus side you can us a Warp Wing to teleport back to Yggdrasil!

Did you like the story at all?

PewDewPie.
I actually found the story of TNG much more engaging then the original. It seems to explore things that most small games don't even bother with. It certainly adds a lot to the history of it!

Now then....when's Generica: The Third Generation coming out? :p

The 12th of Never, as I feel like I've wrapped up the story satisfactorily in G:TNG.

I am considering writing a story overview for the Generica Dilogy and posting my notes in a separate gamepage. Maybe I'll do that this week sometime.
