In the dream of a child stands an ancient manor filled with forsaken fancies and empty memories. Mysterious yet familiar to the child that wanders the lifeless house. What lies at the start of waking? Is this truly a dream? A memory? An illusion or reality?

This project contains the compiled maps from the Manor Mapping Madness collaboration. The aim of this project was to create a room with atmosphere - whether it be spooky, dream-like or creepy is up to the map maker.

Bug Update

There's a bug in the new version which makes it impossible to pass. I'm not sure exactly how it happened but a variable was changed and broke the event to get the sun key. I've since fixed the map but there's a few small bits and pieces I've been meaning to fix as well and I'd like to get them done before I upload the (here's hoping) absolute version.

Just unzip and paste the Map0005 and Map0043 files in with the rest of the maps (in the game folder). That should fix it up for now.

If you run into any more bugs, just leave a comment under this blog and I'll add it to the list for fixing and update the patch above.

Quick Update: Added another map to the patch (in downloads section). Apparently one of the switches had been deleted in the end event, leading to the game not being able to be finished. No idea how that came to pass but it's fixed now. Thankfully.

Below is the list of files that I found were missing while playing. Just copy any other graphic, (but make sure it's in 256 colors) rename it, and paste it in their right folders. The program won't know the difference. x)

Alternatively, you can wait until Liberty uploads the final version. :D

System2c - System2
Dark1 - Battle
Absorb1 - Battle
Dark1 - Sound
Dark5 - Sound
Char5 - Charaset
Char1 - Charaset
Night2 - Panorama
Bolt09 - Sound
Se-rain - Music
Se-torrent - Music
It... shouldn't be too long. >.<; Yeah, I know I said that before, but I got a bit of enthusiasm for it last night (then was interrupted) which is still going, so I should be done soon.
Wait so the reason I was unable to play was because there was a lack of files?
I'm sorry I'm still confused and I really wanna play this game >m<
With RPG Maker games, as with any game, if a file is missing it will crash. The difference is that because these games are made by hobbyists, sometimes there will be files missing more often.

Hrm, the download didn't actually have a battle folder at all for me so I suppose Ill just wait for the new download :3

The "Battler" folder, you mean? That concept was implemented in XP and up. This was made in 2K3. Besides, this game doesn't even have battles, if memory serves me right.

But, yeah, it might still behoove you to wait for the new download.

So I'll have to wait for the new download then right? Thanks for letting me know :3
New download is up and it should solve all the issues in it!

Hi, this game is really great so far! I downloaded the recent version (thanoy3) but there is a problem that prevents me to go on... After using the sun key in the solarium the game crashes and a small window pops up and says "the file object2 can not be opened" the same thing happens when I want to go through the bottom right door in the armoury...

Any ideas why this is happening? I really want to finish this game :)
Oh man, another file I missed. >.<;
Okay, don't panic. Here's the fix:
Download this file - http://rpgmaker.net/media/content/users/1013/locker/object2.png
Make sure you keep the name the same. That is, 'object2.png'
Find where you saved the game folder and pop it in the folder called "Charset".

That should fix the issue. If you come upon another issue like this, just let me know. (And mucho thanks for reporting this!)
I'm updating the download file now, but for anyone who has already downloaded the game, just do the above steps and it should be fine~

The game ran fine for me. I assume it has something to do with having 2K3's RTP on my computer?
Yeah. I have a different version to other people (there's a few versions with different file names :\ ) so sometimes people who don't have the same version have compatibility issues/missing file errors. I was sure I caught them all, though, but seems I missed one. ^.^;
This game won't work for me.

Everytime I press new game I seem to get the ending and all the save boxes are used up but each is saved at a different point. Where is the start supposed to be so I can actually play it?
after the intro I can't seem to move anywhere and when I went tot he load game I was in a basement of sorts and then after a fews seconds the game just crashes saying

Even script referenced an event that doe's not exist.

is this also to do with a missing item ?
Wow, okay. So I missed something yet again. >.<;
God.

Well, I've now updated to the fifth (and hopefully final) version. Deleted all the save files and fixed the start position. I'm really sorry for the issues.

liam: I'm not sure what the issue would be with the event that doesn't exist. It's rather odd. I'll look into it more, but try the new version (THANOY_5) and if it persists let me know. Sorry about this.

thats cool these things happen, I'll try your new version :)
Howdy all. Some of you may remember I sent you all a PM a while back asking if I could reuse the THANOY maps in the latest chapter of my game as a dungeon. Well, it's now out, get it here if you're interested. Cheers
I don't know if this will be answered but I really hope so. I recently uploaded a video of me playing this game to Youtube and I got a copyright claim from some SME company for using "Heaven Give Me Say" from the Silent Hill games. I'd like to know if you guys had permission to use that song so that I would know whether or not I can fight this copyright. Thanks!

Btw, I absolutely LOVE the game, it is GREAT. I'll be playing it despite any copyright claims, but I'd like to know if you could help me kick some Youtube copyright ass :D
Considering it's a Silent Hill song, no. We didn't. However, even if you agree to go along with the copyright they don't really affect you in any way. It's just showing that you acknowledge that some of the stuff in the video isn't your own. (Don't worry, I've had the same thing happen to me. It surprised me the first time and I fought it but either way, it doesn't make a difference to your profile, stats or anything else~)
You could add a note in the description that the game uses resources from other areas, but seeing as it's not for sale, it's not breaking any real rules, so fret not!

That said, I'm glad you liked the game! I'll check out your LP of it (you can add media to the project too, like a video or something if you like. That way people checking out the game page can see your LP as well~)
Heh; Copyright, what a pesky little thing, eh? I wonder how that works, though. Like, it's by chance or they keep an eye for specific stuff? Because my maps also use music from Konami, but that didn't raise any red flags?

Anyway, on another note... I didn't know there was people out there were LP-ing this game. I rarely pay attention to things outside of RMN, and since no one has submitted media here I was unaware of this! - In one hand it's kind of cool, but in another, I can't help but to feel sorry for all those poor outsiders that I've put trough my incomprehensible puzzles. :(
