:Story:

Aeons ago, before planets and worlds came to be in the fabric of time,
Goddess Gaea the creator of Life and Rebirth, created six mystical elements
which made the foundation of a world. Nature, Fire, Water, Earth, Light,
and Shadow, these elements coalesced to form planets full of life and energy.

The world you live in is known as Lakria, a planet blooming with lush life
and full of wonderful mysteries and legends. Many inhabitants of the world
often give praise and thanks to Gaea for bestowing them such a life to live.

Until one day, the energy of the Lakria appears to be waning and the planet slowly begins to start dying. Everyone is in shock and is wondering what might be causing the planet's pain, they began to look up at the sky to Gaea for a miracle, hoping
she will once again visit the planet and bless it with rebirth.

:Spiritual Energy:
In the game, energy and spiritualism are heavily referenced throughout.
Spiritual energy pertains to the very essence that makes living things..
well, living. It is also the makeup of thoughts, emotions, and one's being.

There is positive Spiritual Energy, which is basically positive emotions
like kindness, optimism, purity, etc, which can really make one's aura
visible and shine. Negative Energy on the other hand is the exact
opposite, evil, greed, lust, doubt, and envy.

Spiritual Energy is also a source of which Magic is drawn from,
this allows one to use Magic depending on how great/type their energy is.

It is noted that in the world of Lakria, there are extremely powerful entities of spiritual energy that are capable of manifesting into physical material depending on what they seem to represent.

New Project announced! Shadow Seeker

Unrelated to Lakria Legends, but here is the new game I am currently working on!
It is called Shadow Seeker, a Action/Horror game that is going to be great, so many new elements and ideas to implement. If you're interested, stay updated with the game page, I'll be uploading a lot to it frequently :) thank you!

Thanks. Between there (possibly) being a bug and me just being unlucky, the latter one is, all in all, probably the better scenario. :)

Now that I know the exact percentage, I can finally reason with myself and move on without killing the entire Merman race.

Edit: Actually, while roaming the bottom of the sea for one last time with a completely different objective in mind, I finally got the drop, so at least it works even now.

@Starmage
Ahh thank you for the compliment! The concept of spirituality is a huge driving force of the game. If you do end up playing the game soon, I really do hope that you enjoy it! :)

That's amazing, all the more makes it exciting for me to discover its' mysteries. I can also see that it's a very huge game! :D Wow, this would be something I'd get lost into for hours. xD I'll leave any feedback I can once I've tried it. ;)
Alright, I've played a lot more of it now (about 4 hours in) and I've more feedback.

- The weird lag is either now gone (bar when showing the name of places) or I've gotten used to it. It was a minor nitpick anyway.
- I'm still annoyed at how you do the save points and other choice commands. If you've got two choices, they will fit in the same message box as long as there's 2 lines free. Just make sure you spam the DEL button at the end of the written sentences in the message box, then add the choices. They'll show up in the box. Why do I say this? Because it's both annoying and unintuitive to have the answers not shown with the question. If you didn't read the question properly the first time and spammed to get to the answers, then you're going to have a bad time when you have to guess what you're answering to. On top of that, shops are also doing the unnecessary yes/no thing. If I'm interacting with someone who is standing behind a counter in what is obviously a shop, of course I'm going to want to go into the shop scene. Having to answer yes after choosing to talk to them before I can see the scene is beyond silly.

Same with the save points. Again, it's a very easy fix to just have the save point automatically bring up the save menu after the little animation and sound without asking yes/no. I'm talking to what is obviously a save point. I would not be doing that if I didn't want to save. It's silly. And you should again, just make the blue ones automatically heal you. It's padding to the dumbest degree - literally. It's one of the few things in this game that has pissed me off each and every time.

Look, it's fairly simple = the reason that I assume you put the choice in is so that people who accidentally clicked on it could say no and walk away, however! It is just as fast to just give us the animation and save screen, which can be very quickly cancelled out of. Add to that that there'd be no discernable time difference between just having that heal command happen without a choice and a normal save point anyway. None! It just doesn't make sense from a design stand point of view. It's silly and dumb and it just gets me riled up every time I have to save. I'm actively avoiding save points just so I don't have to click on the extra bullshit. I'd rather risk game over and redoing shit because it's dumb.

:sigh:
Okay, that rant is over, but really, the way you just brushed the whole thing off is even more aggravating. It's a valid consideration to streamline systems like this so you're in and out with no pissfarting around. Having to click heal and then click save is bothersome when...

I'm repeating myself. I'll stop. You get the idea on that at least.

Okay, where was I?
- Mapping is still a bit too crazy at times. I do understand you were going for Ara Fell-esque but you need to be a little bit better a mapper to hit that note. There's a lot of points where cliffs are weirdly done or pieces of ground are cut off or something just looks odd. Passabilities, too, at times, can be a bit weird. The reason Ara Fell is lauded is that the base components of the maps - the layouts and such - were very well grounded. The decoration on top just added to that.

Okay, it feels like I'm being really negative here, but really, I'm not. I like the game so far. I want it to be better because it has a lot of promise. I can certainly see why it got so many misaos and I agree with it being up there as a pretty great game. The soundtrack is lovely (it's very FF-like) and the story is interesting the further you go. I love the little sidequests (I'm a sucker for 'em) and the puzzles are pretty good (even if some of them could use some fore-warned hints - that dumb switch puzzle in the temple had me scratching my head for ages). The atmosphere is nice, the gameplay mechanics aren't too skewed to hard or easy (though some monsters I'd love to piledrive to oblivion) and there's a lot of small things to find and do.

So far, if I were writing a review, I'd be leaning towards a 3.5-4 star one. It's above average in some areas, a little below in others, and decent in the rest. And hell, I'm 4 hours in and still playing so make of that what you will.

I will likely write a review when I'm done with playing it (note that I didn't say finished the game - I might find something that makes me lose interest in it before the end and I'm someone who will drop games and still write reviews on them). Honestly, if some of those more annoying quirks could be worked out, I'd definitely say it's a solid 4-4.5
Depends on how the rest of it goes.

(FYI, I've just gotten to the Nature spirit.)
Hi.
I`m stuck in the void chamber and needs some help,
i got 2 orbs(agony,guilt) but in the middle room,what should i do?i tried the frostmedallion on the flames (and spirit scepter)but nothing happens.In Nights room,when you`re a crow and flies to the blue thing below the chest(how to open that? )and uses spirit scepter the game freezes,you`re stuck on the blue thing.

EDIT:should it be doors with other than the 2 you choose?I mean that in the left door it`s a picture of someone that i don`t have in my group and i can``t go through the door.
I second Liberty's improvement suggestion concerning the choice commands - except for his condescending tone.
I found a game-breaking bug (it seems this time for real). Forgotten Chamber on the map that contains the Mimic: If the player gets hit by one of the nail traps while facing north, he will get permanently stuck (I haven't completed this dungeon yet, so it's possible there are other nail traps that could the player get stuck). Since I couldn't resist to play around with these nail traps, I think I received my appropriate punishment. :D

I second Liberty's improvement suggestion concerning the choice commands - except for his condescending tone.

It's not condescension, it's frustration. So much frustration.

Anyway, I'm 8 hours in now (don't get too excited, a lot of that was me getting distracted). I'm up to the volcano area.

The story has picked up a little more. The written issues are still littered through the text which is a bit distracting but I'm enjoying the characterisation a bit more than I was. The save stuff... still annoys me but you already know about that so I won't harp.

The mapping is still an odd mix of weird. I did notice that there was a bit of inconsistency that really stood out when you used Mack characters with RTP-styled ones in the same areas. It's really jarring. I highly recommend replacing any Mack-style sprites. I know they fit the faces, but I'm pretty sure you can find some RTP-styled sprites that also fit (there's a lot of ones that fit the Mack faces that already exist).

I didn't really talk much about the gameplay last time. Battles are pretty well balanced and I'm not finding them too easy or too hard - they're quite well done in that regard. I really enjoy the little touches of having world-interactions available, though I wish you'd again streamlined the gameplay aspect by having you just use the item when you've got it instead of forcing you to find it in the messy item menu each time. The bombs and lantern do it that way so it's a bit inconsistent that you have to use from the menu with some items but not with others.

I love the idea of having a side party that has skills to help you out. I kind of wish you'd tied their skills to keys instead of items (like you did with achievements) as that would also help streamline the gameplay a bit more, or at least have a CMS with the choice of which side-party member to use when you interact with the magic stars.

(I'm wondering if you drew inspiration for this idea from Ocean's game, Paradise Blue, which had the same kind of thing except they were characters you could hire and they'd do in and out of battle stuff for you).

There's been a few graphical bugs I've noticed (like becoming full-sized again after you shrunk to worship the statue just outside of Mithral) or overlapping tiles.

I do feel a bit like there's a tad too much padding in some ways. Having to constantly go back and forth through the creek definitely reeks of this (opening shortcuts in order to get from one end to the other would be a nice touch - maybe a side party character who could activate teleportation runes back and forth, for example). I just feel that for the 6-8 hours I've played, I haven't really gotten far and it feels weird that I've only just gotten my next character, especially when I know there's six of them to get and there's still 5 elemental spirit thingies to nab.

Eh, I'm enjoying it so far so I'll just keep going I guess. XD
Sorry, just now getting back to this and seeing the comments and feedback! I'll leave down what I can for the most part :)

@kenlan
The last orb you need should be down the middle passage. To get further down it, you're gonna have to change the purple flame of the reaper statue blue by using the Frost Medallion. I see you tried this and it didn't work, it might be some positioning issues I believe? Try using it standing in front of the statue itself, or on the sides, that should do it I believe. The other doors with other character portraits will all be accessible once you collect all 3 orbs and defeat the mini boss of the dungeon.

@KyleLascar
Ahh, now that's a good one! There were other instances where this could happen that I had already fixed up, but it looks like one seemed to slither by! Nice catch though, I'll be sure to fix that up!

@Liberty
Don't worry Liberty, I take everything and all as constructive criticism. It happens you know? No one is perfect when it comes to anything. All your suggestions are valid, and they can definitely help for a smoother experience. Especially the item lists in the menu, and those damned save points lol. That'll be an easy fix since it's just a matter of editing one and copy pasting it. The text and some punctuation I understand, I've been receiving some notes from certain users here on where and what to fix in regards to that, so thank you for that as well!

The beginning portion does get a little heavy with the backtracking, but right after the second dungeon, you'll be able to have access to warping anywhere you've been to already :) Glad to see that you're enjoying it for the most part, I do hope you continue going!

It's great to see how well you respond to our feedback. We can only contribute so little when it comes to making a fantastic game slightly more fantastic.

The bug I mentioned in my last post also occurs when facing south. It doesn't matter if the party faces north or south, they get slammed into the wall. Fortunately, this should be an easy fix.

Concerning the save points: I agree with Liberty, but it doesn't really bother me. What I deem odd, though, is that violet save crystal menus - in contrast to blue save crystal menus - can't be exited using Esc. Violet is inferior to blue in every way. :D
Hi Koophakush Congrats to you(and your collaborators) you got the deserved awards, thanks for the dedicated time in order to create Lakria for all of us.
Fortunately, I saved this time beforehand. Most of the nail traps seem to be potential gamebreakers. The player is always tossed to the opposite side of the one he faces, and if there's a solid tile at the end of the nail trap section, he will get stuck. See for example Mirage Temple in the room north of the entrance hall where there are three nail traps in close succession. Being hit here while facing sideways means it's time to reload. Sure, the player is only supposed to go up and down here; he must really intend to trigger this bug in order to do so. Nevertheless, it can still happen by accident. Thus, let me warn not only the fakirs among us: Avoid these nail traps.
Damn, I screwed up. Long story short: The game tempted me into wasting my Runic Ores. Now I can't craft Al' Setet and can't recruit Masoud (for the time being?). I still might have an earlier save file, but I would lose way too much progress at this point, even though I'm just about to start the main quest in Alfard. So I would like to know: Can I find more Runic Ores later? And until then, will I miss anything (important) permanently without having recruited Masoud?

Oh man, lol what a situation there. I originally had it so that the ore would spawn again after a certain amount of time. Though using Timers seemed to conflict with a bunch of other systems that also utilize them, so it became a huge mess. So now they're back to being limited actually :/ If you fail to recruit Masoud, you potentially miss out on some loot, an extra optional location in the game, an achievement, 4 World Bosses, and some ultimate weapons lol so yeah that's a lot of stuff. He's probably the only Side Party Member with the biggest outcome, well him and Marian.
hello - back and playing and stuck in the second dungeon, with two playful flames that appear and as soon as i go next to them they disappear... any hints - need to activate something or other inside the dungeon
Hi after return to work I have less time to play :-( , after rescue Leena, I went to Urumun Village, I did not take note about what the granny said about the watchers.

1) My party Levels David 54, Leon 53, Peace 45, Serene 53 and Leena just 31 opsss a big difference, if I put here in the party the others will continue growing is there a way to increase her level? .

2) I liberate the Fairy Queen, there I have pending to wake up the Dragon (I tried and it kills me in a second, I think I need to increase my levels).

In the left bottom side of the island there is a dark little circle what is it for?

3) OgronĀ“s Den find the big froggie dish for the ogron to make the special food. where to find it?.

I am lost where to go or what to do now. Help please
Finished! Congrats on your strong (and well-deserved) showing in the Misaos. I will list some (hopefully not too scattered) feedback below.

Summary: Lakria Legends is very close to being a commercial-quality indie-RPG. Of course, that is a very strict interpretation of commercial-quality. I am comparing your game against the like of Aldorlea Games or White Giant RPG Studios,who offer good bang for your buck, for example, and not the oh-so-many dubious offering out there. Lakia Legends is a good enough game to spend money on, but improvement in a few areas, would make it easier to sell and/or justify a higher price.

Ok on to the various features and some other comments.

Music: Excellent. I won't go too much into this because often I will play games with the volume off, as I might be watching a movie on the side, but the soundtrack was unique and very enjoyable.

Character Development & Plot: Pretty good. Dialogues did drag a little bit in the second half of the game, but the progression through the world map and around characters was well done / felt pretty natural.

Map & Dungeon Design: I thought the Dungeon Design was fantastic. Having all the optional items to interact with and the score at the end to let you know if you found everything. Plus a few monsters and mini-bosses would have rare drops to looks out for.

The only negative here is that sometimes it was a pain to find the correct item (like turtle toss in a dungeon) so some kind of item sort or sub-category would have been helpful. Similarly, to access high-usage items like the flute / paradise druit / party jewel easier.

Battle Mechanics: I thought the enemies scaled pretty well (including bosses) and didn't even really feel grindy except for a little bit towards the end. Double/Triple attack, Watcher Summons & occasional field effects were all fun. Good variety of status effects through skills & their upgraded versions, even though I rarely needed to take advantage of them. The power of Watchers & Incarnations did feel a bit inconsistent, or more specifically, sometimes they were very weak which was a little confusing, especially relative to mana cost. Night's regular skills in particular were almost never as good as his normal attack. Leon's upgraded Nova Skill might have be OP as it seemed like instant death would trigger a lot.

*Relics: Relics were a fun, thoughtful mechanic, that started off very useful and ended up not mattering much. I think it would have been great if there were more available.
*Mermaid Powers: I would like it if the gift of nature could do more damage, it felt rather inconsequential everytime it triggered and I discovered it early on.

Shopping: Money felt a bit tight after Mirage Temple. For example, if you wanted to grind to buy anything in Nivel it could take a very long time. I also felt that weapon progression was a bit unevent in spots, and that Peace's weapons tended to lag behind a bit behind the rest of the party (that he started underleveled relative to the party didn't help).

Sidequests/Achievements/Bestiary: Very well done, I don't feel a need to go into detail on them, but I don't want it to be lost in between some of my other areas of emphasis.

Again, I really enjoyed playing Lakria Legends, I think it was without a doubt one of the best (if not the best) RMN games of 2017. And please let me know if you have any questions for me about my playthrough / other thoughts / etc..

Hi again.
About Masoud and some more questions
what needs to level up the forger to make the weapon?I have been forging some runic blades and things but he can only forge 4 things.
Whatabout the password to bandit hideout?Can you please tell it or where to find it.
How to use the orange circle below the void temple?I tried the mystic dance but no.
Loving the game so far. I am stuck in the Mirage temple. I just got the soul scepter and cant figure out where to go next. I keep hitting a dead end with a door that requires a key and have been through every room multiple times. What am I missing?
@Pheadona
Sorry for not getting back sooner! Glad you figured it out though :)

@canim
After the cutscene in Urumun with Serene and her grandma, head back to ship and make your way to Lyia Village. Go talk to your mom and show her that Leena is safe, after that, new events should open up from there!

Unfortunately, party members will only level up when they are in your Party. But, they should catch up fairly quick if you take them along. The dragon on Fairy Island is a pretty tough secret boss, there are some strategies to the fight, but you will need to be at a good level at least. The dark circle that you found can only be used once you get an item from the fifth dungeon in the game, the Void Chamber.

In Ogron's Den, talk to the Ogron that is next to the food and campfire, he can make many dishes for you to eat. You can craft the frog dish there needed to complete that quest! Hope all this helps! :)

@ogswan
Thank you very much for the insight and feedback, there is a lot to take in from it! I'm glad you really enjoyed the dungeons, I felt like that was a huge driving force to the game in terms of gameplay. I heavily agree with the item menu being really clustered, especially late game. This is partly my fault due to how I created the database for it, it's good to learn from though!

The game does get pretty dialogue heavy at certain parts, I'll look into cutting it down a bit, I tried to not let it drag too much, especially the ending. The Relics were an idea to let players experiment with different builds, as they can also synergize with some Skill upgrades. But, after getting the ultimate relic(Incarnation), they do seem to kinda lose their feel. I feel like the battles and some skills can still use some overall balancing, that can come within more testing. Thank you very much for the feedback and the compliments, so glad you had a nice experience with the game :)

@kenlan
You need to learn more patterns for the Forger to level up. For example, there is the Gold Gown pattern and the Mirage Gear pattern that you can find in the Ishen Desert. Learning these, will grant you a new pattern, plus the ability to craft Intermediate and Expert level crafts!

The password for the Bandit Hideout can be found by going to talk to the Bandit Leader Kirito again after completing the Void Chamber. He will give you the password in exchange for 1000 Gold. Since it's just optional content, if you just want the password, it's "GOODTIMES". Hm, do you mean the orange star mark in Nivel or inside the Void Chamber? This is interesting, they should be working fine.

@reglan
Thank you! Ah, the Mirage Temple, I know it can be quite a huge dungeon. If you're short a key you might need to do a little backtracking. In rooms where you find a key and the exit gets locked with spikes, putting the key inside the stone device will cause the spikes to release. The key is then sent to another device that is within the temple. So, you'll need to find another one of those stone devices to see if your key was transported there.

Let me know if this makes sense, or helps you out!
