Fey

A tale of two unlikely friends struggling to piece together their broken pasts.

Everyone has or will face loss of life and faith. These pivotal times are part of each and everyone of our spiritual journeys. Why then do some people emerge from the crisis with their life and faith intact, while others give up on hope, a future, and their reason for living? For Landon, a young boy now burdened by the mistakes of his past, such moments have weighed heavily on his conscience. It isn't until a mysterious shape shifter named, Picaro, draws him back into his broken past, that Landon can find the means and strength to move on with his life.

The spiritual successor to Darkness Shall Bleed, Fey allows players to take control of, Landon Ferngrass and embark on a journey that will push him to his emotional, intellectual and physical limits as he tries to set his past right and discover the truth behind Oak Island and the legendary artifact of souls, the Fire Pearl.

Problems running Fey?
Windows 8 has some compatibility issues, try running it in Windows 7 compatibility mode.

EXCITING NEWS!

Hello!

It's been a while, but I'm back with some news that I'm excited to share. If you're a fan of anything I've produced, most recognized example being Fey (https://rpgmaker.net/games/778/), then boy oh boy do I have news for you. With the advent of RPG Maker (officially) and the ability to publish to itch.io and Steam, I've been hard at work on What's Left (link below). It is a complete re-imagining of Fey, what it was intended to be. It is important to note that this is not just an official release, but something fresh, new, and more importantly... whole. The original version of Fey was, regrettably, rushed, and over half of the game was cut due to too many reasons to list here. But as time passed, it strengthened the sense of unfinished business. That and some persistent fans and friends finally tipped the scales and I began to revise, expand and rebuild the game from the ground up. What was a couple hour experience now spans 6-8, more if you consider the new side quests, hidden areas, secrets to uncover, tools and weapons, locations, story, dialogue, the ability to purchase a house, get a citizenship, buy furniture for your home, explore chunks of open world and etc. The list goes on, and on, and on. Some more notable things are the revised combat system, the ability to use swap weapons on the fly, the new menu, introduction and branching cutscenes. What I felt was a unique game (with the aim for it to play like a movie) is now a complete experience.... Oh, and for my fans (by popular request) there is a TON more Picaro, including the ability to utilize his unique powers at will. For more information, and to keep up to date on the progress, (Steam page is under construction, along with Youtube page, itch.io, and various others) clink the link below and subscribe. You can also sneak a peak at some more videos and screenshots on my Twitter and Instagram! Make sure to follow on your preferred platform! I appreciate the support and hope you'll share my excitement as I move toward release with in the coming months!!!

Did you not include the music in the 2012 version for whatever reason? That could be it.

This problem is with you, everyone else hears music.

Double click your volume icon by the clock and make sure none of the bars are at the bottom. I had an issue where if I had Windows Media Player playing and I started a RM2k3 game, it would drop the SW Synth channel to the bottom and mute the music.
No, my volume's fine. Sound effects play as normal. It's just music that's missing, and I can't find any tracks in the game folder.

Edit: I just downloaded the old version, and it seems my original guess was correct. The 2011 version contains all the sound/music/panorama/etc. folders, while the 2012 version does not.
It does. They're hidden and write protected. All the music I use is RTP. So if you don't have the RTP that might be the problem. Other than that it could have something to do with how ever windows is running the game. Are you running the game in the editor or right from the folder? The only other suggestion is maybe you're using a hacked or edited version of RPG maker that is causing the problem. I use te standard version 1.08 found on crankeye.com
Huh, that might be it. To my surprise, I could not find the 2k3 RTP, though I'm sure I must have downloaded it at some point. Maybe that was on a different computer.

...And no, that wasn't it. RTP's installed and still no music. Odd. :/

I'm running the game through the executable, not through the editor.
Maybe try the editor? Because the RTP is packed in with the Editor... Hmm.

I was trying this out and already broke the damn thing. :( When I jumped across the pond at the very beginning of the game my character got stuck in the state of being able to pass through everything. The movement speed got slowed down too and I can't interact with anything.

I'd love to continue though, as everything feels very polished!
Thanks for the heads up Happy, I'll look into it.
This game seems so epic, and the amount of work you have put in it -- and I just love those extra features, definitely subbed! And even after SO much, the filesize isn't too high either! Perfect <3

Nope that is the end of the demo. I believe there is actually a title screen shortly after that point. Thanks for the kind words! :)

Yes. Sadly at the moment you do need the RTP at least, to play Fey.

I'm hoping to have the finished version of Fey out by December. *fingers crossed*
