Fey

A tale of two unlikely friends struggling to piece together their broken pasts.

Everyone has or will face loss of life and faith. These pivotal times are part of each and everyone of our spiritual journeys. Why then do some people emerge from the crisis with their life and faith intact, while others give up on hope, a future, and their reason for living? For Landon, a young boy now burdened by the mistakes of his past, such moments have weighed heavily on his conscience. It isn't until a mysterious shape shifter named, Picaro, draws him back into his broken past, that Landon can find the means and strength to move on with his life.

The spiritual successor to Darkness Shall Bleed, Fey allows players to take control of, Landon Ferngrass and embark on a journey that will push him to his emotional, intellectual and physical limits as he tries to set his past right and discover the truth behind Oak Island and the legendary artifact of souls, the Fire Pearl.

EXCITING NEWS!

Hello!

It's been a while, but I'm back with some news that I'm excited to share. If you're a fan of anything I've produced, most recognized example being Fey (https://rpgmaker.net/games/778/), then boy oh boy do I have news for you. With the advent of RPG Maker (officially) and the ability to publish to itch.io and Steam, I've been hard at work on What's Left (link below). It is a complete re-imagining of Fey, what it was intended to be. It is important to note that this is not just an official release, but something fresh, new, and more importantly... whole. The original version of Fey was, regrettably, rushed, and over half of the game was cut due to too many reasons to list here. But as time passed, it strengthened the sense of unfinished business. That and some persistent fans and friends finally tipped the scales and I began to revise, expand and rebuild the game from the ground up. What was a couple hour experience now spans 6-8, more if you consider the new side quests, hidden areas, secrets to uncover, tools and weapons, locations, story, dialogue, the ability to purchase a house, get a citizenship, buy furniture for your home, explore chunks of open world and etc. The list goes on, and on, and on. Some more notable things are the revised combat system, the ability to use swap weapons on the fly, the new menu, introduction and branching cutscenes. What I felt was a unique game (with the aim for it to play like a movie) is now a complete experience.... Oh, and for my fans (by popular request) there is a TON more Picaro, including the ability to utilize his unique powers at will. For more information, and to keep up to date on the progress, (Steam page is under construction, along with Youtube page, itch.io, and various others) clink the link below and subscribe. You can also sneak a peak at some more videos and screenshots on my Twitter and Instagram! Make sure to follow on your preferred platform! I appreciate the support and hope you'll share my excitement as I move toward release with in the coming months!!!

Awesome, thanks! When you do get around to it, you'll have to let me know what you think!
I'll have to download this and see what all of the fuss is about! Congratulations on getting Fey featured, by the way. I also liked the Facebook page... just because. Haha. =P
Just started playing (trying to fix that error you mentioned).

So far I'm impressed with the amount of details, sprite animation and interactive objects you've implemented. It shows how fond you are of this project.

The village's music track is quite lovely as well. There's a medieval, rural tone to it that reminds me of a great little movie called The Wild Hunt. Anyway, the game looks promising so far ;)

Thanks, you called it. Fey had been a labor of love and passion. Also did you get the error fixed? I'd love to hear what you have to say upon completion. :)
loved, Loved, LOVED the gameplay. Very pleasing and I never encountered a bug.
The visuals was very well done with a lot of respect to detail.
The only beef I had with this was that the story was a bit...short and the ending was VERY underwhelming. I mean, you don't even get to fight the last 'boss' and there was a strong sense that you just gave up towards the end.

This game has a lot of potential, but seemed to have been cut short.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I can assure you that I never gave up on the ending or at any point in production. Right from day one the main focus and goal was to tell a story, that being said, I always focused on the story more than any other aspect of the game. There is a greater meaning intended in the character's development and story progression than a traditional sense of "princess kidnapped, hero answers the call to adventure, hero confronts & defeats king of all villains, and princess is saved. Happy ever after." I'm glad that you were still able to find some enjoyment in it. Thank you for playing. :)

My character constantly moves upwards whenever I load my most recent save file. I don't have any other save files. Save file is here: http://rpgmaker.net/users/Sated/locker/Save01.lsd

Fix please..?

Okay I've had this problem before and found that the easiest fix is to unplug your keyboard and then restart windows. Then plug your keyboard back in. I had this problem over the summer quite a bit. It's caused by one of windows updates. Not sure which one. Usually can be fixed that way. Regardless I will still take a look just in case. Let me know if it helps.
I don't think you can fix it. The "stuck controls" problem is deep inside the RPG Maker 2003 engine; it's in the way it interacts with the default keyboard interpreter.

You'd have to find a Cherry-level fix to have a hope of fixing it.
Just to clarify on this, it is some sort of bug related to rm2k3's engine. I remember this happening to me sometimes during test plays, though it wasn't too frequent. This is remedied for me by restarting my computer, though if the problem persists even after, it might be the save file?
It would be a tedious process, but to reset the bug, a person could also try stopping various processes and services until it seems to be corrected. Then, stop and restart the process or service whenever it happens.
That's interesting that you point out it's a problem with rm2k3 itself. I never noticed it over the years until just this summer. Weird how that works, eh? Though that's always how it goes, test, test, test, first time you show it to anyone of importance and something breaks right off the bat.
It's something that happens in windows cached memory that is stored in the volitile memory once efficiently removed, it should boot up properly. Or at least that's been my experience. Like I said, I've used the program since it came out and only ever had that problem, just last summer. There was also times where F12 didn't work or the X or Esc didn't work and it was the same thing. Did a hard reset of windows and everything seemed to work fine. Regardless, I'm glad you're able to continue!
