[Poll] Why some people think FF8 was the best FF ever?
Squall is dead-theory really added some interest in FF8 for me. Been itching to play it again for some time now. This was the time Square was at it's peak and tried to make ambitious stories left and right. Example being Xenogears and it's forced religion symbolistics, etc.

Looks rather bland to be honest. Street level looks alright but might want to spice things up outside the hospital. Steet poles? Bushes? trees?... people?
Survival Horror
You can check few commercial 2d horror games for inspiration.
There is at least Clock Tower for SNES and also Sweet Home for NES. It's possible, but the player needs an open mind and good amount of imagination to really be drawn into low resolution pixel horror in this day and age.
Also for eternal darkness type of effects, use images and also clever use of screen transition types might be something to consider.

Also I've been itching for a Dragon Ball game for some time now.. Last one I played was on PS2, so it's sure been a while. This also makes me want to continue this age-old Dragon Ball game I was making, but I got no time to create figting game engines :(

How is Last of Us anyways? I'd sort of like it to be this moody survival-horror game with semi-open areas to explore and ammo and other resources to conserve, but I hear/fear it's just Uncharted on-rails interactive movie slapped on a survival-horror theme..

author=Dudesoftauthor=0range00Stick with it. Not only does it open up to become the most satisfying free world game, the ending is in my top ten best game endings. Not youtube watchable either. You have to play and suffer as John Marshton to really love that ending. Seriously, stick with it.

Eh, I always imagined that a sort of acceleration button would fit Sonic-game perfectly. A little like playing a racing game with an ability to jump around.. now if we just got a button to drift corners..

Fanboys in general, irritate me to no end
Oh man.. I've been dealing with a major fanboy-issue for a past year or so at DmC:Devil May Cry board. Fanboyism is strong when even after 6 mounths of it's release, these guys are making new issues to hate the game and it's developers. The board is as active as ever, largely because of the haters.
They also took my "DMC-fan" title away because I support this new DmC :D Apparently it's either one or the other, but it's forbidden to play and like both. I personally stay there mostly because of this little pen n paper RPG going on, and occasionally make fun of those DMC-fans..
In short, yea fanboyism is really annoying.
