[Poll] How long have you been with RPG Maker?
i can't remember exactly when i started using rm2k.. I know it was before rm2k3 came, so it's 10+ years. I know i started game making around 98' or 99' as 11 or 12 years old with ZZT and Megazeux, making ASCII games. Some time after i found rm2k. It's pretty funny but my computer back then couldn't run it properly. Games lagged to a point they were unplayable. This didn't stop me developing stuff of course ;) i still remember my first project. I didn't know anything about switches or variables so after every story event i had to teleport the player to a new version of the same map where these events/conversations don't take place.
edit: looking at the poll, i'm surprised most of us are old farts it seems...

keep the table as it is. Map is looking good otherwise as well, don't overwork your maps. Even picasso had to call it quits with mona lisa at some point. "looks too much of a man but whatever man"

Itaju, your screen obviously is awesome. Very moody! :) though i presume people want constructive feedback when posting their stuff, no? Anyways, your shading is a bit blurry at places. Bolder shading and colour using would be the next step, it's something i struggle in as well.
lockez, that's a cool map for something as simple as it is. I'm liking the different terrain/floor tiles.

obsorber Bish Bashes the Best RPG Maker Games
well you know reviewing of any kind is just +++ for the community, so thumbs up for that.
i vote for THE classic, A Blurred Line.

Ambivalence and Frustrations: the RPG Maker Tale.
as mentioned above, large portraits or using facesets in message boxes is the best way i believe. Music and writing have equally large role.
as for emoticons, i really don't like them. I prefer silly shoulder shrugs and head shaking.
check out Romancing Walker, i think that game managed to bring it's characters alive with minimal gimmicks.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
so after red dead redemption, i played some MGS Peace Walker (never played iy before), then i finally broke 100 years in Tokyo Jungle with a rabbit (it's actually piece of cake after the first time), then i played some Dynasty Warriors 6, and finally my recently bought The Warriors from PSN.
[Poll] Do you think RM2K/3 will ever die off completely?
i actually prefer rm2k <_< >_>
if it wasn't for more pictures and keys available, i'd never touch rm2k3. But meh, thanks to this topic i'll look into more modern makers.

i noticed a few screenies went without being commented. Hate it when that happens to me, so..
tom bombadil, your forest looks fairly generic to be honest. Mapping is good and all for a random forest path but it's not a screenshot to sell your game to people. As i said it's okay, but if that path is meant to be special in some way, i'd add some kinda point of interest. Like remains of some house, old statue forgotten in the woods, etc.
dreaded, it's really hard to see that battle chara. You might want to have lighter background if it's that battle character you want to be showcasing. Otherwise everything seems to match each other nicely.
mr.detective, that's a nice room for a girl. You're really improving with your mapping skills
