You could make an edit of the bed sprite that would show the blanket above the sprite. It's pretty simple to do! Just copy that particular tile to another spot on the tileset in an image editor, then zoom in and remove everything above the edge of the blanket. Then put the top half of the bed on the A5 tile and the edit on a B-E tile. Make sure to set that B-E tile to above hero and the A5 tile as below hero, then you can put the A5 tile down and put the B-E tile above it and any sprite in that spot will look like they're under the blankets. ^.^)b
