ATEN'S PROFILE

I'm a hobbyist game maker. I like making games as both a hobby and a challenge. I'm currently trying to make a game using the Linear Motion Battle System similar to Tales of Eternia. If you are interested, check out my youtube of the progress! Located here:

I also dabble in programing software and I've made some nifty utilities but my best one so far is a Save Editor for Final Fantasy XII. Get it here:

Dreams

You guys have all the luck, I've never had a nightmare in my life.

Taking a page from FFVI's book.

One way in which I approached this in FFD was you begin the game controlling one party, then at a certain point, the game switches to another party who has begun the same journey, but obviously goes around it in a different manner, the story keeps switching sides, with both parties meeting and helping each other along the way till they eventually start traveling together.

Of course, that's how the story was designed, but if all the party members have already met, and then have to split, then.... well, not much I can say without knowing the details of your story, (and thats something you might not want to share just yet). So, to make a wild guess, just introduce some sort of scenario where they have to split to get a task done in a certain amount of time (like a week, in game terms) or something.

That BG is extremely beautiful.

The AI party members choose enemies randomly based on if they are alive or not (aka not at 0hp). As for the commands, I don't know if you have played Tales, but remembering commands is pretty much not rocket science, if you set a particular skill to, say, X+UP then (in battle) you will hold X and press UP. If there are no skills there, nothing happens. Of course you can also change skills on the fly, (meaning while in battle) via the battle menu.

In short, it's very easy to do. And if you know tales, then you know this like the back of your hand.

Main character must stand out from the crowd. Wouldn't be much of a main character if he didn't.

I like it. It stays. If you can't deal with it, that's too bad :p
